Debate #2 PROBLEM - * shows up, he wins |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 10:01 AM by bigskydem
His performance was soooo pathetic that he can't possibly do worse.
If he shows up next debate and says "9/11", "flip-flopper", and "It's hard work", he wins.
The bar has been drastically lowered.
Could Rove have planned a poor performance for #1, better for #2, and an all out attack in #3 to say * has caught his stride, righted himself and won the final two?
Hell...Bush won #1 in my book and couldn't do much better - he ROCKED!!!!

1. I don't think that will work this time |
|
I really don't. bush* is running on a four year record that he can't defend. Just showing up and not pissing himself isn't gonna cut it.

6. No, It was not Rove's strategy for Boosh to look stoopid in debate #1... |
|
Bush was a stammering, repetitive, and sometiemes incoherent, fool last night. Once the media start talking about the details of his bad performance, those will be the details that people will be watching for during the next 2 debates.
Bush could, concievably, come back with the performances of his life for debates 2 & 3, but I don't think he's got it in him.
Far more likely is that he'll come out the same way, with the same tired answers, which , though he thinks he's being consistent, will only reinforce a growing opinion of him as stubborn and shallow.
And, as he did last night, when he feels on the defensive, with the initiative slipping away, he'll again become angrier and angrier.
Bush has just started the beginning of a self-reinforcing, downward spiral.

8. Oh, it can and will get much worse for *. |
|
This time he'll be "debating" the economy, LOL! That won't be a debate, it'll be a slaughter! Terra, terra, terra was *'s only so-called strong point in this campaign. He blew that one last night. Now we get to enjoy the icing on the cake! :9 Slurp

>>>Could Rove have planned a poor performance for #1, better for #2, and an all out attack in #3 to say * has caught his stride, righted himself and won the final two?<<<< I thought this last night as I watched the debate. So that by the time the 3rd one comes around, he "appears" very good. In billiards, isn't that called "hustling"?

I think what we saw was Bush at his best. Watch the polls. If Kerry starts closing the gap, Bush will be under even more pressure to make up the ground he lost last night. I don't think he can do it by just showing up. He'll need a performance better than last night and I donn't think he has it in him.
