Kerry forgot Poland!!
I swear this was the best moment in the whole debate! Bush came off like such a moron in this exchange:

Kerry: When we went in, there were three countries: Great Britain, Australia and the United States. That's not a grand coalition. We can do better.

LEHRER: Thirty seconds, Mr. President.

BUSH: Well, actually, he forgot Poland.

Everybody at my debate party simultaneously cracked up at that!
I think people in the audience even lauighed at him. Realizing he had just laid a big one, Bush then gets really angry and petulant:

BUSH: And I don't appreciate it when candidate for president denigrates the contributions of these brave soldiers. You cannot lead the world if you do not honor the contributions of those who are with us. He called them coerced and the bribed. That's not how you bring people together.

Um, Chimpy, they are bribed and coerced! Not a good point to make.

5. We were absolutely rolling when he said that! LMAO!
Sounded just like something my 4-year-old daughter would say, "I *know* we can't have chocolate cake for dinner."

The eyeroll he did after making the statement was classic too. Hope someone makes it into an ad.

19. And Poland says" "we were taken for a ride" by Chimpy
"JOHN SHOVELAN: The President didn’t mention the failure to find any stocks of chemical or biological weapons.
But in an interview with visiting French journalists the Polish leader did.
President Aleksander Kwasniewski said Poland had been mislead about the existence of weapons of mass destruction.
He said:
ALEKSANDER KWASNIEWSKI (translated): They deceived us about the weapons of mass destruction, that's true. We were taken for a ride."

21. He might have lost some votes in suburban Detroit there
I'm sorry to say. Our eastside suburbs are heavily Polish and full of Reagan Democrat types whose votes Democrats need. It's certainly a minor mistake and Kerry was correct about the level of US involvement relative to that of the others in the "coalition", but I hope he says something nice about Poland in the next couple days or on his next visit to Detroit. You might think this is a joke, but there are alot of old Polish American people, especially in Macomb County who might be turned off by something like this. Maybe MI is solid enough for Kerry, but if this is spun as a slight against Poland by Kerry, Democrats in Warren, Sterling Heights and other Detroit suburbs could be hurt by association.
