Post-debate e-mails flying fast and furious
Chris, I have always voted Democrat. However, since 9/11 — I have looked at this world differently. Regarding tonight's debate: Kerry may be an eloquent speaker and wins points there but when you peel away the layers Kerry is promoting old Democrat policies of pre 9/11 more talk with the appearance of making progress. I just don't think we can do that anymore. America has been asleep for many years. We better heed this wake up call for the sake of the continuance of our nation under a democracy. I so so wanted Kerry to make me feel safe and he didn't. At this point I am leaning towards Bush. I still trust him more than Kerry at this point. -Cyndy Jones, RN, Missouri
For a president that states he’s tough on terror, I found it odd that George Bush mentioned the name of Osama Bin Laden only once (in response to Kerry’s mention of him) and never stated that he was actively looking for him. George Bush seemed like he was scared to mention the name of the man who led the attacks on this country. Why is capturing Bin Laden not a priority for the Bush Administration? That’s the biggest question of them all. -R. McDuffie
John Kerry won this debate hands down. If we wanted a president only for his ability to repeat talking points ad naseum, then George Bush would have a better response from me— but the President failed to fully answer any of the questions asked of him, and stuck only to his pre-written script. Sen. Kerry provided thoughtful, thorough, and intelligent responses of his own -- not from his staff -- and it was full apparent that Sen. Kerry was far more prepared and far less nervous about this evening's debates. A Kerry win, hands down. -Christy Smith,

For the first time I now know that I am voting FOR Kerry and not just necessarily AGAINST Bush. Kerry is simply the right man, the right time for the America of our future…a respected America with a leader that thinks through his decisions and has the courage to admit when he is wrong. -Lynne Murphy-Rivera, Larchmont, New York
I am a Republican but after seeing this debate i am definately going to vote for John Kerry!
Thank you! -Jeff Adams, Overton, Nevada
