I suspect that during the domestic policy debate, bush will pull wedge
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 11:30 AM by Moonbeam_Starlight
issues out of his butt right and left. He'll use the old God, guns and gays fear factor.

But it won't work. Here's why: bush has NO CLUE what he is up against. Well, I take that back--that spanking he got last night gave him a clue and he'd be wise to take it. See, this is a man COMPLETELY unused to being questioned or to having his views challenged in ANY way, shape or form. Surrounding bush with nothing but yes-men and fawning, pre-selected audiences for months and months on end (his entire misadministration?) has been a COLOSSAL error on Rove's part.

Getting back to why the domestic policy wedge issues won't work: they won't work because bush is debating KERRY. Last night, I saw the prosecutor in Kerry come out full force. I saw a capable, calm, strong man in full command of the facts and sure of himself on the issues.

The Kerry campaign will be ready for EVERY wedge issue bush can throw at him. And none will stick. None. I have a feeling, seriously, that we have just seen Kerry's WORST performance in the debates.

Think about THAT for a second. Meaning he will only spank MORE ass in the next two debates. Wow. I can't wait.

By the way, I was already on board with Kerry and didn't think it was possible to want him to be president more, but apparently it was. While he was talking about wanting both multi-lateral AND bi-lateral talks with North Korea, while he was nailing bush on ignoring the North Koreans developing more nukes while he's been in office, I felt it happen. I wanted him as president right NOW.

I actually cannot now believe I was EVER ABB. Screw ABB. I want THIS man for my president. I don't even CARE that he isn't liberal enough for my liking, Clinton wasn't either. I think Kerry is going to go down in history as one of The Greats. Yep. I DARE anyone to talk smack to my face about John Kerry. I dare them to. Go ahead, try it.

1. Kerry polls higher on nearly every domestic issue
Winning the first debate means more people will pay attention to the next debates, which I might add, will be thrown directly into Kerry's wheelhouse. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... :bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce:

3. I want him to
I want him to bring up abortion, gay marriage, everything. Unless I'm wrong, this is going to be a bloodbath.

5. HOT DAMN!!!!!
When I read your post, I completely ENVISIONED the domestic policy debate. Now that I've seen what Kerry can really do against bush, DAMN, I could SEE the bloodbath you mentioned.

4. Time for a terror alert!
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 11:34 AM by Nightjock
besides the terror alert nugget in the back of gw's underwear last night!

I would not be surprised at all if an alert stopped the 3rd debate after Kerry wins the second one too.

7. Bush* can't even
fluster Kerry. Kerry was relaxed, did not seem to care when Bush* wanted to respond when he was not supposed to have that option. Kerry smiled, didn't care. He LOOKED like a guy who could handle any situation unlike Bush* who has proved he can't. Kerry was commanding, Bush* was defensive and WAY out of his league. You are right, he is not used to any disagreement and it is not helping him to face it now. I am smiling a lot today.

8. stem cell research is a wedge issues that favors us
I think that the stem cell research issue is going to be a "good" wedge issue for the Dems going forward. Almost every family in America is effected by the diseases that could be alleviated by scientific progress in this area, and the Republicans, trapped in their medieval mindset, are standing in the way to appease a gang of fundamentalist fanatics. This issue is going to bite the Right in the ass big time.

9. He is not used to agreement
and he is definitely not accustomed to a non cheering crowd. he was really thrown off without the adulation pouring back at him. And now his confidence should be shot, so the next debate will be interesting.
