1. They know Bush lost
And they know they'd sound delusional if they tried to say he won. So the best they can do is try to convince themselves it was a draw.

2. Even the Talking Heads on Faux Were Calling it for Kerry Last Night
right after the debate I switched to Faux, and they were mincing words bigtime but the
message that Kerry won came through loud and clear even there!

The "draw" stuff started appearing about an hour later, after Karl and his damage
control team had time to make some phone calls. These must have been some
rather interesting phone calls, as it took longer than usual. There was probably
some push-back from Rove's initial insistance that they report a Bush* "win"--
anyone who saw the debate knows better -- even the Freepers!
