The triumph of lowered expectations |
|
We've heard for the past week the Republicans spinning the potential for a weak showing by their chimp-boy, lowering our expectations. Meanwhile, the punditry played Style over Substance as the determining factor, saying the public would respond to Bush's homey style thus handing him the victory. But...this had the effect of lowering expectations on Kerry's debate style.
Kerry knocked it out of the park vis a vis both style and substance, but he would've been considered the style victor if he managed not to get the red light each round. Kerry's team kept really quiet on that matter. I do believe Kerry performed beautifully, but with the lowered expectations added in, he was AWESOME.

1. Bush sort of talks in light subject and Kerry seems to know the subject. |

I think Gore also knew the subject so I am not sure people really care. The really do seem to think they need to vote for someone they would like to have a beer with. I frankly would like to have a beer with Kerry. Would be nice to sit around with someone who knew something but I am odd.
