Thanks to C-Span's split screen, I noticed that Kerry would calmly jot something down while Bush was talking--I mean, the way his pencil was moving, he was obviously writing something. As the evening wore on, Bush picked up a pencil, but by the way it was moving, you could tell he was just making marks!

4. THANK YOU! I posted this late last night, too!!!

We watched on CSPAN. We were joking about the broad strokes Bush was making and the heavy hand with the pen... as Kerry was talking. At one point, during the middle of the debate, Bush TURNED over the paper! AND.. you could clearly see, as it turned over that there were BIG DOTS, and SWIRLS, and BIG words written all over it in a 3rd grade fashion! I'm so glad someone else saw this!! If I get a chance to watch the debates online again, perhaps on CSPAN, I"ll pinpoint the time when he turns over the paper. It was one of those PRICELESS moments!!! Too funny!
