Kerry using a quote from Bush's own father to expose him. Ouch.
I thought that was Kerry's cleverest move. He pulled it off well too. It
would have been easy to smirk or mock while saying it (God know Dubya
would have), but Kerry stayed cool.

6. Sadly, they did not have the split screen up on CBS where I was watching..
CBS did the split screen thing intermitantly, and it was off when Kerry
started to quote Bush SR. Dang, I would have loved to see Jr's face!

Not only because it was true on it's face, but because GWB has, er, some daddy issues.

5. Clinton did the same thing to 41.
I wonder if it was the Clinton people's idea. At any rate, it was a very good move and probably tapped into W's unresolved Oedipal issues.

18. Prescott Bush,
on McCarthyism, when 41 questioned Clinton's patriotism.

13. It was Bush Sr. reason for not going all the way into Iraq .....
after the Gulf War.

I'm hesitant to try to quote it, because I'll make mistakes. The transcripts
are around....

send * over the clift. I'm sure we were all jumping in our skins when Kerry used 41 as a reference.

20. Also when he singled out Ronald Reagan
When pointing out that we need to work with allies. That was a smart move.

I wish he'd expanded this analogy. He could've said "the mark of a true leader is knowing that when a policy is not working you change your strategy. That's a value that America's greatest leaders have held: FDR, JFK, Lincoln, Reagan - the President, on the other hand, is rigid and ideological. That's not true leadership. That's stubborn leadership. That's reckless leadership. That's not the kind of leadership we need in America. I will give America responsible leadership that will restore America's honor and credibility in the world."
