And the temperature was TOO HIGH.

Did Kerry even break a sweat?

3. Stomping bush's ass didn't even make him breath hard.
Afterwards, Kerry should have said, you know what's not hard work - kicking the shit out of bush. It's actually pretty easy.

2. Hahahahaha!
Yeah, Kerry was totally shaken up by them.

Glad Rove spent days on his 32 pages of rules so Junior would look and sound so good. It really paid off. /sarcasm

7. Bush was squirming like...
...an 11th grader who got shitfaced drunk, smashed his dad's new Caddy (after taking it without permission), and got busted by the cops.

4. That has to bite Bush and Rove.
They tried so hard to fix it in Bush's favor, and it didn't work.

25. On One Station, Kerry's Screen Shot Was Lowered To Compensate F/Shorty
so Kerry's lights were covered... you couldn't even see them!

6. I really wonder what team-Bush miscalculated
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 03:44 PM by e j e
Did they think Lehrer would ask easier questions?
Did they think that Kerry would be too verbose? Not charismatic enough?
Did they actually think that Bush was adequately prepared?
Did they think that the media would give Kerry the Gore-2000-Treatment(tm)?

8. "Did they think that the media would give Kerry the Gore-2000-Treatment(t"
don't speak too soon on this one. for the few days after the 2000 debates, the media agreed Gore won. it wasn't until later than everyone's opinion magically changed. it can still happen to Kerry.

12. He had to come out of the bubble...
Bush believes his positions, and he's lived isolated from anyone who disagrees (limited press conferences, doesn't read contrary news stories, restricted access to campaign events); he and his handlers keep thinking everyone else believes the things they do, then stumble when they stp out into the real world.

17. Maybe Jim Lehrer Didn't Get The Email with the Approved List of Questions
I thought for sure they were going to demand that they get to screen the questions
if not pick them.

They'll be falling all over themselves to make sure that Gallup gives them a friendly
audience for the next debate. Probably recruit them all from the new Gallup owner's church.

Complaining about the placement of the lights just hours before airtime. Do I detect Carville's fingerprints?

24. Hmmm... any possiblity of water being part of the next debate?
Keep mentioning water over and over.

Clean water.
Water not contaminated with arsenic.
Water that fills the pond on his ranch.
Lack of water when it gets too hot on his ranch.

15. The irony is...
if Bush&Co. hadn't demanded the lights, Kerry probably would have run long on several occasions. By making the issue so obvious, they forced Kerry to discipline himself in the length of his answers (which he did in spades), which will probably result in more concise message for the rest of the campaign.

26. Me too.
I wonder if anyone has a picture of it.

Not only was it a beautiful smile, it was also a respectful smile. It wasn't a mocking smile that the media could criticize. That smile made him very likable, the whole time that the shrub was making a fool of himself.
