I think I now get Bush*'s main point from yesterday. |
|
He kept bringing up stuff about looking steadfast and resolved and not sending mixed messages, pretty much in response to criticisms about how things were going into Iraq.
His whole point is that we can't act like we think anything's wrong.
I think that's it.
But this is stupid - everyone knows it's just an act. It's like that idea that very young babies have that once something leaves their field of vision it no longer exists. Maybe he thinks we're not doing our part when we bring up stuff that's going wrong, like he seriously sees that as shirking our responsibility or something.
He just kept bringing that up. I understand that though, he can't come out and say "excuse me, we're faking it to try to fool the terrorists" so I could see why maybe he'd be like "*ahem* we cannot send MIXED MESSAGES *ahem*" to try and hint that over and over. It's bizzare though. And bullshit. But I think I understand now.

1. Bush's strategy is to drone on and on about being "resolute"... |
|
He's sending a subliminal message to voters so that they will associate him with power and strength. Don't underestimate this strategy. It seems to be working for him. I hope our guys are aware and prepared to counter.
