Kerry's next hit -domestic policy (security)debate previewed ?? I HOPE |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 07:53 PM by Gloria
This was at the Kissimee, Florida rally this evening. Watch it if you can if it reruns on CSpan...the whole thing looked the prep for the domestic policy debate.......it was good!
He started on a repetitive bit involving the word "relieved."
He had plenty of really good lines....but this was the best...
"Under the name of tax relief, George Bush is like somebody going into your home and they steal your television set. They relieve you of your television set. Well, let me tell you what he did...."
and he goes on to say that Bush "relieved you of the budget surplus...relieved half a million children of afterschool programs...relieved 140,000 workers of job training that's desperately needed...and last night, when I brought up the issue of homeland security....he looked at me and said, "how are you going to pay for that, there'll be a tax gap"....His tax cut relieved America of homeland security, and that's wrong. Those are priorities..."

Bush's implication in the debate that we can't have real security because it's too expensive, and I'm glad Kerry is pointing out Bush's statment.

Talk about taking the frame away from them...
I hope you're right, and this is the new mantra.
Thanks for posting this.
