Bush was lying out his behind again today!
Here is what Kerry said at the debate last night:

The president always has the right and always has had the right for pre-emptive strike. That was a great doctrine throughout the cold war. And it was always one of the things we argued about with respect to arms control. No president through all of American history has ever ceded and nor would I the right to pre-empt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America.

But if and when you do it, Jim, you've got to do it in a way that passes the test. That passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing. And you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons.

And this is what Bush said at today's cheerleading rally:

Kerry was talking about America passing a "global test". Now I don't think that any president should let other countries decide when and were we should deploy our troops. (I'm paraphrasing Bush here, and probably giving him credit for more coherence than he displayed)

1. Bush is beyond hope
It's no surprise that he doesn't understand Kerry's wise admonition that pre-emptive actions must pass the test of legitimacy. Let him keep on playing the dope -- it's working.

2. He was called on his lies today on ABC
during a top of the hour news snippet. I was shocked that the Disney Network would notice, but Brokaw did, on his lie about how Kerry wants other countries to run US security (Kerry said the opposite, of course).

Dang, Bush really flopped for the mainstream media to start calling him on being the lying sack of crap he is.

3. It's not a lie if you really don't understand what your opponent is saying
I have little doubt that Bush genuinely does not understand Kerry's point. The Republicans honestly think America can do anything it wants and the rest of the world should just shut up. The idea that we are bound by the same rules as everyone else is not only alien to them, it's repugnant to them. They can't abide it, they just can't stand it. It makes them sick and raging with impotent fury.

5. As I understand it...
JK was talking about the global test being that the president of the US should be able to tell the truth to our nation, our government, and to the world about why we make a decision to go to war (or anything else). He said that he, as a leader, would have to pass that global test.

Now what * heard and what * said are two entirely different things, as usual. He heard the word "global" and went ballistic.
It was SO OBVIOUS that he really didn't understand the "global" concept of fwhich Kerry spoke. But what can you expect from a man who badly damages the English language and speaks in terms of wudn't, idn't, nuCUlar, etc.
I think the stupid look on his face throughout the "debate" said it all. The man was CLUELESS!!!

Go Kerry!!!

6. Oh, he was telling the lies about the IWR, too ...
'he voted for the war ... he voted against the $87M ...'

Well, actually, George ... its a lil more complicated than that.
He - along with the rest of the House and the Senate - voted to
give you the authority to go to the UN and failing that, take
action against Saddam Hussein. He did not give you carte blanche
to bomb the snot outta the Iraqi people

7. Blinky doesn't know how to tell the truth
And more importantly he doesn't want to tell the truth. Has blinky proven to the World that he invaded Iraq for legitimate reasons? I think he has not.
