Proud of JK
Hi Folks,

Chris Heinz here (JK's silly stepson). I just wanted to check in as myself on DU and say how proud I am of John, of our emerging communications team, and everyone on DU and other blogs who let our voices be heard thru our collective actions.

JK hoisted progressive, good america on his back last night and changed the story line in the election. And now the terf is favorable. Let's keep the pressure up this last month. I hope you are as proud to support him as I am.

Thanks,

Chris

13. JK must win
If he is able to get across to America his more relaxed, warmer, conversational, REAL self...I believe he will win big.

His problem is much like Gore's...a stump speech persona that is very different than the true personality of the man.

John Kerry is America's last best chance. I've supported him since Nam, and have always thought he would be a fine president.

Best.

15. I had the pleasure of seeing JK at small house party
In Nashua, during the NH primary campaign. You get a feel for whether a politician is merely doing his duty and acting pleasant or if he truly enjoys meeting and interacting with different people, and John Kerry struck me as the latter. He had my primary vote anyway, but it was fun seeing him in a fairly low key setting.
I remained confident last December and I am confident now, we will win this election.

I've formed a similar opinion, albeit from a distance.

As worried as I am for the world, Kerry offers genuine hope.

A lame duck, 2nd term Bush would be catastrophic.

I hope you are right...I'm feeling confident, too.

(you don't look or sound silly to me!)

You know that we're pushing hard for your stepdad, and how proud we are to have the entire Kerry/Heinz clan representing us. When I saw all of you up on the podium after the DNC acceptance speech, I was moved to tears by the hope you and the Edwards family embody for this country.

Please tell JK and your lovely mother to keep fighting for all of us. We need them. We're counting on them. And we're very, very proud of how far they've brought us.

Keep up the good fight!

Maureen

26. You got it, Chris!
Sen. John Kerry has never let our country down and he's always stood for what's best -- from the time he volunteered for service in the United States Navy to the time he served as a Massachusetts state prosecutor and Lieutenant Governor to the time he's served in the United States Senate.

Last night your step-dad demonstrated why he is the best-qualified candidate to run for President in a long time. Please know that I am honored to be with him and all his supporters!

Good luck to him and to all good Democrats, Independents and Republicans! God speed John Kerry!

Go John Kerry!

29. Not for sure if for real on Chris Heinz; but as far as Kerry we are proud
Blame it on paranoia of people when they claim stuff on names. However, after Air America found democratic underground I know it is possible. I believe Kerry has done good all his life. Going UpRiver was a very good documentary and I'm glad about the timing on it. Kerry hit very hard on the debate. I think he could have hit harder; but held back.

Are they planning to get Going UpRiver played on public TV or C-SPAN or the big networks? I really think this documentary needs to be spotlighted better. It proved to me that if Kerry was to go to the UN and speak to them he could use the same passion as he did back then because that was the John Kerry I saw during the debates. I'm also convinced unlike Bush all of Kerry's speeches are original and directly from him.

How proud I would be of my stepfather right now! I was thoroughly amazed at his level of restraint. I could not possibly have held myself back from rolling my eyes at our President's incompetent and peurile responses, yet John Kerry remained dignified and respectful in the face of preposterous misrepresentations of his words and deeds... John Kerry is THE MOST capable man for the job. I am humbled by his willingness to take this country out of oblivion. Never has there been such a challenge for someone running for President than there is now. And never have I witnessed someone more equipped to do the job.

I supported Dean in the primaries, but after last night, I am completely satisfied with our choice of a candidate. Completely! When John Kerry is elected, my faith in humanity will be restored.

I KNEW the minute he could be sen for himself against Bush he would be seen as the giant he is and has been. I have no doubt he will continue to pleasantly surprise people.

Keep up all the "hard work" (snicker)...I mean actually...it probably is hard work ripping us all off as George does...for John Kerry I suspect it to be more of a labor of love...yeah that word was LABOR something George Bush has never seen a DAY of in his life.

Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 10:10 AM by girl gone mad
because he was himself. I think even some Democrats were expecting him to be the charicature that the GOP has been so successful in portraying him as.

I hope he knows how happy he made so many of us on Thursday night. This has been the most draining campaign I've ever worked on, and it's the third campaign I've worked on against Rove/Bush. There is just so much more at stake this time. They've used every dirty trick in their playbook, and have been abetted by an overwhelmingly complacent and/or corrupt media.

Kerry's debate performance was like a shot of adrenaline, straight to the heart. He has certainly made my efforts at media advocacy and GOTV much easier.

Edit: If you are Chris Heinz, please tell the campaign to consider having Carl Cameron's access revoked.

51. Hi Chris! Ask your step-dad if he remembers Charlotte, NC
I had already begun supporting and working for the Kerry campaign in Asheville, NC before the "Jobs" rally in Charlotte on 8/19, but I became a die-hard after this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=653889

Please ask John if he remembers the guy in NC with his father's medals. His reaction was very moving to me and to all those around us.

Godspeed!
