Chris Heinz and Vanessa Kerry Heat Up the University of Michigan!
http://blog.johnkerry.com/blog/archives/000982.html

Michigan Kerry staffer Michael Simon reports on Vanessa Kerry and Chris Heinz's visit to the University of Michigan:

An over capacity crowd turned out last night, Thursday, December 8th, 2004 to hear from Vanessa Kerry & Chris Heinz at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Students were forced to sit on the floor, window ledges, and to crowd outside the doorways of the jam-packed room in the University of Michigan Student Union as nearly 100 students clamored to hear about John Kerry's plans for America.

It was, by far, the largest college event of the Presidential campaign season so far in Michigan, and demonstrated the enthusiasm of students and young people for John Kerry. With now just under a month to the Michigan caucus, things are really heating up in the Great Lakes State (just not the
weather.)

Several of the members of the audience were compelled to switch from supporting Howard Dean to supporting John Kerry after listening to Vanessa and Chris, including one young woman who prefaced her question to Chris by stating that she was among the many who had "Dated Dean but Married Kerry."

Congratulations and thanks to the University of Michigan College Democrats and the Michigan Students for Kerry leaders who worked tirelessly to put together a fantastic event.

1. This reminds me of 1972...
My first presidential election vote.
I paid a lot more attention to war protesting vets than I did to others. Also, the other issues important to young people are the same today as then: war; jobs; education costs; civil rights.
