Is there a medical or chemical explanation for Bush's water
consumption?

I counted 19 times he took a drink of water. John took a drink once that I caught.

Could our commander in thief be on a drug that makes him thristy?

Which drugs have that effect? Does anyone remember him drinking a lot of water in previous debates with Gore or Richards?

I realize the lights are hot, but the lights were hot for John Kerry too. It seems rather excessive to me.

4. He had to replace fluids after all of that urine ran down his leg...
once he found out Kerry was NOT what all of the bushies told him, I'm sure every orifice of bush's body let loose with a discharge....:)

Kind of glad he was behind that podium...:)

6. Anti depressants
can cause cotton-mouth, but then again so can nerves... Important to remember that this is the first time in 1000 days that chim has had to answer real questions in front of the populace...

7. There are medical reasons, polidypsia, aka constant
thirst is common with certain things such as Diabetes. It is also common with people who are just very nervous. In the case of the chimpster in chief I'd say.... he was panicked....

Fligth or fight, he could not flee and he truly never fought

:-)

13. I agree
and think he was just super nervous and so he decided to drink water. Sometimes when people get nervous they twitch and in this case Bush went for his water. When I'm nervous I twitch my left leg like crazy. Heh heh.

8. It's called Cotton Mouth
Certain drugs cause dryness in your mouth. Bush is obviously on some type of psychotic drug.

He might have been drinking Vodka.

10. I don't think it's anything
to be made of. I drink at least 2 gallons of water on most days. No lie. I suck 'em down like, well, they're water. Even when I only do 1 gallon a day, I've had people ask why I drink so much water every day. IMO, we have sooo many other things to hit Bush's "performance" (sorry to anyone who does any real performing but it was the only word I could think of to describe what he did last night) why worry about the amount of water he drank?

11. Because his overall behavior was very telling
It's an honest question, and a worthy one I think. I noticed it too. An experienced debater knows how body language and behavior affects people's perceptions. The water drinking was part of it. I liked when he tried to drink from empty glasses myself.

14. I think with the empty glasses
he was trying to make sure he used up all the water so he wouldn't run out. I wonder how many of those glasses he had. Did you notice they had different types of glasses? Kerry's was more like what you'd drink at a fancy party and Bush's was like those you see on show's when they are having a chat and drink some fancy wine or something. Know what I mean?

18. Who said I was worried about it?
You drink an excessive amount of water. That's perfectly okay, but it's unusual. The fact that it's unusual makes it interesting to speculate about and talk about.

It isn't the amount of water alone, but it's the amount of water in the time frame.

If I assume you're awake for 15 hours and you drink 2 gallons a day, that's 17 ounces an hour.

This man drank 38 ounces (roughly) in 90 minutes or 25.3 ounces an hour which is nearly three gallons in one of your days.

The long-standing recommended daily minimum is 64 ounces and people trying to sell water recommend that a 250 lb person who doesn't exercise drink 125 ounces a day. REPEAT - These people are trying to SELL water. http://www.bottledwater.org/public/html/input1.html

At the rate Mr. Bush was drinking, he'd have consumed 380 ounces in a day.

That's unusual and worth discussing.

12. Diabetics get thirsty a lot.
But that is reaching. They only have a small cup--so I think he didn't go through lots of water--he just did it for something to do, something to look busy? He is very antsy--has trouble staying still and calm.

16. Right
it was like when he was using his pin to "write." Someone either here or another board said he was just making scribbles to look like he was busy and trying to do like Kerry was to make himself look professional and better. Of course it didn't work. :eyes:
