1. This is a RW op-ed column where she notes she is in the losing 37% in her |
|
opinion.
I would not worry.

See Walt Starr's thread. The Goring of Kerry has begun.
On CNN also they're trying to spin it as a Bush win.
Rove said on Thurday night that in a few days, people would be saying Bush won the debate. Looks like his predictions are coming true. Out of over 2500 articles about the debate, Google News made this thing #1, at the very top. So millions are going to see "Bush won the debste" when they visit Google news.
Fucking unbelievable.

I'm with you 100% on this one. But now that we're online, and people Google to find out what's being said, they come up with Ms. Saunders as quick as they come up with any other columnist, and it's in a respectable paper, and they think they are reading something by a real opinion leader. Which Ms. Saunders is not, at least within the confines of the Bay Area where she lives and writes. The worst part is, she will represent the Bay Area to the outside world, and her reasoning is so asinine in most cases that it's just an embarrassment.
She was one of the few S.F. Chronicle columnists I actively avoided reading. Anyone else I'd be willing to read most of the time, but her stuff was uniformly both dull and twisted, and seemed to come from some alternate reality.

Nothing new - BushCo imploded so badly Thursday night this is all they have to talk about. Revisionist who are hoping to appeal to that portion of society that did not watch the debates. And the ones who did, they want to convince them not to believe their own lying eyes and ears. Some people will swallow the GOP talking heads' BS hook, line and sinker - all with a Kool Aid chaser.

Perhaps, but more than 65 million people saw Bush's ass handed to him on a platter by Kerry...there eyes and ears did not decieve...these reports of a Bush win will only serve to piss them off more.

13. Yes, that's the way I see this. The media is getting desperate and |
|
will pull out all the stops this month. I'm beginning to believe that the debates will be the last chance for us to get Kerry's message out as far as media communication is concerned, and we will have to finish it on the ground from now on out. From what I see, it is working for us.

16. That's right. I did watch |

Never ever ever do I miss a debate. I have to say it, though, Byush and Gore spent far too much time agreeing with each other, but a statement by Bush in Debate #2 stands out in my mind and it's absolutely true.
"The purpose of the military is to fight and win wars."
He practically told us that he was itching for a war even before the election and any mention of dangling chads.

8. I play cards with conservatives once a month and have done so |
|
for 15 years. We learned long ago to not talk politics, though there have been times when they will listen to my comments or will ask me my views. They know I am better informed than they are, they say that they don't have time or don't like politics. Last night before the game they had made a pact amongst themselves not to mention the debate. Someone slipped and mentioned the debate. I simply smiled and said Kerry dropped the shrub. They all began the "we don't want to hear it" and harassed the person that mentioned the debate.
At the end of the game, as we were all leaving, I smiled and said "aren't you proud of me, I didn't say anything political" then I jabbed, other than the fact that your boy was dropped kicked and lost the debate. Their response was, yeah, but our guy is ahead in the polls. I smiled and said, for now. Then we all left.
Point is THEY ALL KNOW HE LOST, spin as the media wants, they know.

We had a RW editorial in my local paper yesterday saying the debate was a tie. The letters to the editor today went 100% pro-kerry and the editorialist was eviscerated. And I live in Charlotte, not exactly a liberal stronghold.

... 55 - 60 MILLION viewers of the debates, the RW echo machine is not going to have an easy time of spinning it.
The more they make false claims about what actually happened, the more people who watched it go down will realize just what a bunch of lying mother fuckers they really are.
I say "bring it on". :)

18. Not Speaking To The Original Poster... |
|
It's good to be vigilant but can't we enjoy good news...
It was the worst ass kicking I'd ever seen in a debate at any level....
Bush should be ashamed to be seen in public...
He should wear a t shirt that says I'm John Kerry's bitch...

19. Might I offer INDYJONES a suggestion, then? |
|
Write a letter to the paper, urging them to dump the columnist, because she clearly is living in an alternate universe. It serves no real purpose to complain here helplessly--fight back first, then come tell us all what you did to support the Democrat.
Everyone here knows full well that Kerry kicked the weecowboy's ass and crapped down his windpipe. Conservatives, like Jonah Goldberg, the pudgy son of the shewitch Lucianne, acknowledge this, as do many, many others--they've acknowledged the loss, even within the deepest darkest recesses of the campaign. The best spin they can put on it is "Well, weecowboy is plain spoken." Or "debates don't matter." They got their asses handed to them. They know it. The only one who was 'gored' was weecowboy.
The truth of the matter is that weewee is stupid, spoiled and just did not study for this all important oral exam. His dad, as he has done in the past, could not give the school a library or a massive donation in exchange for gentlemanly C's (as happened at Phillips, Yale and HBS), and we, the American people, gave him his grade--it was a pass/fail exam, and the weecowboy flunked.
