If not, his handlers must have noticed. Was yesterday's rally his first moment mentioning the name "Kerry"?

1. No, he said Senator Kerry at least once that I can remember.

I think it was on the character question. When he wanted to appear warm and fuzzy of course. Because he knows what "hard work" it would be to love him. :hi:

And on edit: The "my opponent" played a little stake in my opinion.

4. You're right probably only once.
Recall the 1984 debate when Gerry Ferraro addressed Poopy as either "Mr. Vice-President" or "Vice-President Bush". The rules were set that he would address Gerry as "Congresswoman Ferraro" he never did. He always addressed her as "Mrs. Ferraro".

5. I didn't watch but chimp commercials seem to dwell

...on Kerry. I think that it is a mistake. Repetition is the essence of advertising. If the focus of the repuke media blitz is John Kerry and their content isn't vilifying enough, you can't tell if its a repuke commercial unless you listen carefully.

Also, if you are republican and you are busy just staying alive with the activities of daily life (not well informed politically), and you are ticked off at bush for one reason or another you will have no problem knowing who to vote for. The republican advertising campaign is helping to solve the "nobody knows who John Kerry is" problem for him. I don't think anyone seriously believes that John Kerry votes against the interest of ordinary soldiers. Also, by repeatedly saying that John Kerry voted against the 87 billion appropriation for the war, they are forgetting that many Americans across a broad political spectrum were astonished (if not appalled) at the size of that appropriation and concerned that much of it wasn't spent and is sloshing around in a military contractor slush fund at present while pressing needs at home go unmet.

2 of 3 republicans whom I know well, are voting for Kerry. One was affected deeply by Faranheit 911. The other believes that Bush and his cronies are criminals, that they are just more corrupt than the average "dishonest" politician. They are mostly disturbed about war profiteering and Cheneys apparent willingness to steer government policy to benefit the energy industry and halliburton. How high are gas costs gonna go?

7. I noticed this too
He had obviously been instructed to refer to Kerry as "my opponent." At one point, he started to say my opponent, then switched it to his opponent's name. He then hesitated for a second.

I swear I think he forgot Kerry's name. It was one of the many brief, but painfully obvious pauses he did.

8. He also kept referring to "the enemy"
It was chilling. Which enemy? Did he want to muddy the waters over who was truly responsible for the attack on the World Trade Center? Does he think we're that stupid?

It's why he testily said to John Kerry "I KNOW Osama bin Laden was responsible for 9 eleven." after our next President made a point of saying that Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden is who we're all really after.
