Anyone see Lil Tucker on Bill Maher?
It was insinuated, although not said flat out, that Lil Tucker is UNDECIDED and even made jokes about Smirk. Saw it myself.

4. Yup, he did, but how AMAZING to hear UNDECIDED
We all know he'll vote for *, but to even SAY he was undecided...

5. It wasn't insinuated. It WAS said flat out. Carlson has not decided
whether he will vote for Bush or not, Carlson said. The reason he hasn't decided is he thinks the Iraq War was a mistake. But he or Maher made the point that that doesn't mean Tucker would vote for Kerry.

This very much surprised me. This is very good news. Tucker Carlson is part of Bush's base. (I believe I've also heard Carlson refer to the big deficit...I think Carlson must be more of a pure Republican. You know, the fiscally conservative type. So could be he's against the big spending that Bush is doing, too, although I haven't heard him say that.)

Pat Buchanan, another Republican, is also against the Iraq War. I think he's going to vote for Bush, anyway, though. I've not heard him say he's NOT going to.

So I want to know...who in the heck is saying in all these polls that they are voting for Bush, if not the tried and true Repubs?

9. See now, I didnt hear him say flat out
he wasnt voting for *. He seemed to skirt the issue to me. You're probably right and Im just not recalling it accurately. I remember Maher saying something like, so it's between * and nobody?

Buchanan and Tuck will prob. vote for him anyway when standing in the voting booth, but for them even to lean towards NOT voting for * on TV is pretty amazing.

6. Are you referring to Tucker Carlson?
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 11:56 AM by MADem
He's already said he isn't voting for Bush. He's also said that Bush has abandoned the conservative agenda, that government spending is out of control, and yada yada yada. He's in the Andrew Sullivan crowd as regards Bush (only not gay, of course). There are a growing number of "true conservatives"--Pat Buchanan is one as well--who remain true to their conservative bona fides, and will not vote for the sitting president because they think he has lost his way.

That doesn't mean they will endorse Kerry, though. They'll probably vote for the Libertarian candidate as a protest. Whatever! I don't care if they vote for Mickey Mouse, so long as they don't vote for weecowboy.

14. Add Lincoln Chaffee & Lou Dobbs To That List
Someone asked Chaffee if he was going to vote for * and he punted...saying he's "Suporting Rhode Island Republicans". There's no doubt in my mind Dobbs detests the financial hijinks of this regime as well.

I saw Carlson and have read (there's the Salon article) that he, unlike Begala, can't stand the Bushistas. I also heard him say he was "undecided", and it sounded more like he was doing the journalists game of either not voting (thus they can claim being independent or "objective) or skipping the top of the ticket and cherry picking down the line (and I am getting a strong feeling that may be a lot more common this year than we've ever seen).

Actually, I see some redeeming qualities in dear Tucker. The guy plays a role on Crossfire that requires him to go over the top, but when I've seen his PBS show or read interviews with him, he's definitely not a kool-aid drinker and has many social liberal views. BTW...no one mentioned he favors legalizing herb...wanna bet Tucker & Bill have shared some tokes.

16. Andrew Sullivan
He absolutely will not vote for Bush. He wrote 2 articles (Esquire or GQ, don't remember). The first was about why he wanted to vote for Bush. The second followed immediately and was why he couldn't. For Sullivan, his being gay trumped everything. He said Bush was on the wrong side of the civil rights issue of his time (gay marriage). No vote for Bush from Sullivan. Hopefully, that same attitude and Bush's despicable support for the amendment will dissuade many of the MILLION or more gay voters he got in 2000. That number still astounds me.

What to think of a "theoretical prez" who stood like a thug in front of mirror looking for his dick after WTC bombing instead getting to work? Tucker the little sucker could not and would not deliver a straight answer. Tells me the sucker is voting for Bush.
