Afghani Election (Oct. 9) Impact On The U.S Presidential Race
Should things go "well" with the elections in Afghanistan, the bushies will be broadcasting this "triumph for democracy", far, wide and very loudly. Should we be concerned about this?

1. Who thinks it will go well????
Have we EVER heard the truth from this administration? It will be a botched affair without a doubt.

4. Actually, there are sixteen candidates
running for the top spot. The NYT ran a piece on one of them this morning. He's a liberal, pro-women's rights and a poet. Needless to say, he's not going to win. Karzai, Bush's handpicked guy and the current leader stands no chance of being defeated. Is it rigged? I think it's fair to answer that in the affirmative. Afghanis have been threatened by warlords if they don't vote for him.

5. No of course we never hear
the truth from this administration. And I didn't say well, I said "well". Let me define "well." No bombings (or at least only a couple) of polling places and millions of votes cast. If you don't think bush won't amplify this news, and if you don't think that the ignorant American public, won't buy it, you're wrong. Americans are incredibly hungry for any "good news" out of either Iraq or Afghanistan. I'm concerned that the spinners could use this effectively to bush's advantage.
