AS a former Dean volunteer, I'd say Dean's campaign had the volunteer organizing effort down.

Anyone else feeling like the volunteer effort is not what it could be. I signed up long ago, and haven't heard much at all.

Going in today anyway to say "put me to work" :hi:

1. We have the same problem here in AZ
I just chalk it up to the old saying 'I don't belong to an organized political party, I'm a Democrat.' But I agree it does need to get better. I'm fortunate to have days off during the week so I've been working our precinct office for whole business days to help our over-burdened coordinator and to direct potential volunteers to where they'd be most useful. We have a lot of people (including myself) who are volunteering for a campaign for the first time in their lives so its important that there is some guidance. Anyone out there who wants to help their campaign should just do what you're doing today. Go to your campaign office in person and ask what you can do.

3. i signed up to volunteer throught johnkerry.com
and have been calling and organizing volunteers in the swing states. I live in a red state.

The program I'm doing is called the phone corps and I just log on and I get 5 people to call at a time.

Yesterday I must have made 50 calls to New Mexico and Nevada, and earlier this week I was calling Ohio and New Hampshire.

It's a blast because I'm calling Kerry supporters who signed up to voluteer and they are glad to be called and given tasks to do.
