how would YOU exploit this line from the debate.
BUSH: It's hard work. But, again, I want to tell the American people, we're doing everything we can at home, but you better have a president who chases these terrorists down and bring them to justice before they hurt us again.

------------------------------------------------------

if YOU worked in the Kerry campaign and your boss came to you and just gave you this small bit of debate transcript to work with how would you exploit it for the Kerry campaign?

1. I'd say
"Chase them down where they are, not where they aren't."

3. I hope "bringing to justice" doesn't mean agreeing to pardon them ...like
you did for A Q Khan in Pakistan who sold nuclear secrets to terrorists.

5. I would throw his words back to him in this way.......
I would say...."I agree...That's what we need, which makes me wonder why George Bush stopped chasing them down where they were in Afghanistan and diverted the chase to Iraq, where they weren't!

6. well...........duhhhh, that's EXACTLY what he's been criticizing Kerry for
not being willing to act pre-emptively; only being a reactive, law-enforcement-style girly man

those dueling quotes also come into play here...the ones about smoking him out/wanted dead or alive, vs. the I don't know where he is now, and I don't care/don't think about him anymore quotes

also these:
"Why do they hate us? ....they hate our freedoms"
http://www.csmonitor.com/2001/0927/p1s1-wogi.html

vs.

"There ought to be limits to freedom"

why don't the dems use the last two in an ad?

7. It's Not The President Who Chases Them Down-
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 03:53 PM by cryingshame
It's the Military along with Intelligence... both of which are under a lot of stress and strain from faulty leadership.

It's also our allies who are no longer as eager to work with us since Bush has pushed them away.

8. He's not chasing terrorists down; he's calling them up.
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 04:11 PM by philosophie_en_rose
George W. Bush repeatedly states that he is the type of president that would chase terrorists down. (Not personally, of course, that's for the brave, unfortunate troops that, by fighting bravely for the country, necessarily mean that every military effort is noble and brave.:eyes:) However, the truth of the matter is that George W. Bush calls up the terrorist to pour into unsealed Iraqi borders to kill the troops Bush allegedly supports.

John Kerry will stop the terrorists by finding them where they are; instead of luring them to Iraq.

13. My first thought after I heard that was Unlike you. I would show a pic
split screen of Osama and Saddem and Play that line then Tell people that John Kerry could do just that because he know which one was the terrorist. He also knows how to go after him and other terrorist.

14. I'd say,
I already work hard Bush, and I've been working harder than you ever have all of my life. Not only that, I'm working harder since you took office just as other Americans are. The only Americans who aren't working hard are either dead from one of your war's of choice or unemployed.

or to keep it short,

Look you moron, you already have a storehouse of "terrorists" who have no chance of coming to justice so long as you're employed. Who is kidding who?

18. It's been four years and they have only added
more terrorists to world...and come up with nothing on 9/11..

That statement is full of holes.

And exactly what are they doing "at home"?

he can at home, and instead of chasing down terrorists, he went off "tilting at windmills in Iraq".
