Elizabeth Edwards Rocks!
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/politics/9820147.htm

maybe shrub needs a spanking for his lies?

CONCORD, N.H. - Elizabeth Edwards tried to persuade women voters Saturday that John Kerry will do a better job than President Bush of protecting Americans against terrorism.

Edwards, the wife of Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards of North Carolina, said Bush has talked a lot about improving homeland security, but has not backed up his words with action.

She cited a report released Friday by the Homeland Security Department's inspector general saying the government's effort to consolidate 12 different terrorist watch lists had gone nowhere, because the department failed to take a leadership role.

"The president has come late to the fight for us and frankly has given us more in words than he has in deeds," Edwards said in a telephone interview, shortly after a "town hall" forum in Manchester.

"It doesn't help to grit your teeth and wave your fist," she said. "When our children promise us they're going to clean up their room, it doesn't matter how many times they promise us they're going to clean it - it only matters when they do it."

7. Oh, yeah
I heard one of THK's sons from her first marriage on Franken recently. He was funny as all heck, had Franken roaring in laughter. We are so blessed this year.

BTW, I understand Mrs. Edwards drops in here from time to time. I hope she reads this thread.

4. OMG! Elizabeth is taking a sledge hammer to his 'strong father' frame!
You know what I mean - 'I am the father of the country; I know what's best - don't need a pink slip from the rest of the world telling me what to do; do what I say - I and my core values know best; I will protect the family/country and always be on the offense.'

Elizabeth says bush grits his teeth and waves his fist - promises us many times he'll do the work...BUSH IS A CHILD. (WHAM SLAM! Thank you Elizabeth!!!)

The strong father neocon frame is being shattered.

Instead of attacking him as a grown man/father, she's re-framing the issue and making bush a child.

Kerry gave her a head start in the debate by recalling Bush 41's comments in his book about invading Baghdad - said 'the prez's own father' which deflated bush down to what he really is: Jr.

'bush has given us more in words than deeds.' Like a child promising to clean his room. (I bet he has never cleaned anything in his life)

8. lol! Maybe we are! Oh I am joyous over this report! How will they attack
this? I so hope they go after Elizabeth Edwards, the penultimate mother and piss off all other mothers on earth.

By the way, in downtown Minneapolis, on a busy freeway, there's a new billboard that says "Don't Vote" against a flag background. If that isn't pure Lakoff, what is? It immediately evokes "Vote!"

5. Ouch. She's underminging the Republican "strong father" BS with an
appeal to people think of themselves as the parents and Bush as the child.

Brilliant reversal of the Repub propaganda.
