Fallujah - At least seven people were killed and 13 wounded in a United States air strike on a suspected hideout of Iraq's most-wanted man Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi in the rebel city of Fallujah, said medics early on Saturday.

Doctor Ahmed Taher at Fallujah's general hospital said seven dead, including children and women, and 13 wounded were received at the hospital.

The US military said that it "conducted a precision strike on yet another confirmed Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi terrorist site in north-east Fallujah."

The strike late on Friday was the latest in a series against suspected Zarqawi sites, with the military always calling them "precision strikes" and hospitals saying that women and children are among the casualties.
