Media heads SNAP OFF as they reverse about-face on debate importance... |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 04:46 PM by DeepModem Mom
For weeks, it was going to determine the election. Then when Kerry won -- weeeelllll, this doesn't mean he's going up in the polls, he's maybe back in the game, blah, blah, blah.
Wimpy Karl-Rove, Bush SUCK-UPs!

3. Yes indeed, I remember "The winner always wins the election" |
|
"The winner of the first debate always wins the election" turned into "Uh... two out of three."
Really, it's just what you said -- Kerry's earned a "second look" and "we have a race now" and all that. Who could possibly watch that performance of Chimp looking stupid, lost, clueless, dull, witless, and idiotic and still vote for him? I think we'll see a significant bounce from this (my unscientific opinion) -- not only because Kerry was so good, but also because Chimp was so incredibly BAD.

4. I heard this from a Repub acquaintance at work who was |
|
DEVASTATED at how badly * did in the debate. I had told him that I knew how uninformed, inarticulate, mean-natured, etc., Bush was, he had always seemed that way to me, and I had had all those perceptions confirmed during the debate. He agreed * sucked big time, but said something about there being 2 more debates...
I thought, "Yeah! Two more times for * to look like a total clueless asshole!" but I did not blurt this out so as not to hurt the guy's feelings.
Also, as a side note, DH and I drove around town today and were gratified to see lots of Kerry/Edwards signs sprouting up everywhere. I am starting to feel a whole lot less depressed about this country!

5. People saw Kerry with their own eyes instead of media's for the first time |
|
in the debate, it's just occurred to me. And Jim Lehrer didn't make the debate about himself, asking stupid "gotcha" questions.
When for the first time, people saw Kerry -- AND Bush -- with their own eyes, not through the eyes of a Rove-driven media, the result was devastating.

8. I heard one of the media whores on CNN this morning trying |
|
to spin furiously for B/C. It went something like this "Of course he looked angry--he's very angry at John Kerry and what you saw was his passion for Iraq and the terrorists." I couldn't decide it if was funny or just sad. This was a "journalist" of course--can't remember who she was but it was one of those shows where all the talking heads sit around and talk to one another. Candy "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" Crowley was the moderator.
