Debate #2 Q: "Pres. Bush, do you remember when we were told to duct
tape and plastic a room in our house because Saddam Hussein could deploy chemical or nuclear weapons within 45 minutes of his order? Now we hear that there was no proof. Before you read 'My Pet Goat', did you ever hear of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'?

God, I just flashed on what that reality was like just before the war. I had a client who was scared shitless for her children, and she was actually going to do the duct tape and plastic thing.

1. Are you too young to remember bomb shelters in the middle 50's?
People in NY actually were installing them. Who the hell would want t live it one? For how long? I guess no one thought about the fallout would be with us for a millennium

3. There was one down the street from a friend of mine. They just filled it
in about 5 years ago. There was a whole plan in the neighborhood, and people had easements to cut through each other's yards to get to the shelter.

One funny thing, now that the shelter is gone, people still want the easements. Oh well.

2. Well, shit
You mean we've been lied to all this time. There's not going to be a chemical attack. Well, thank God. I can finally take all this duct tape and bubble wrap off my house. It's starting to get a little stuffy in here.

:HOURS LATER:

Hell, what am I supposed to do with all this duct tape and bubble wrap lying around. Damn you, W!

4. Ha! I know it's funny now, but remember the fear mongering? Lots
of people bought it! They were really frightened, esp. young mothers I know.

Bush should be called out for it, and it would best be done by a young woman.
