Regis and Kathy in the morning...
I forgot to post this yesterday...

Generally I hate all the morning programs with all the fluff they portray. But I was just wanted to hear the morning take on the debate...so I watched the beginning of the Regis show...

Is he a chimp fan..because he really dismissed the entire debate...saying it was boring...and he watched only about an hour... then changed the subject.

I wonder if it had been Kerry making an ass of himself if he would have given it so little air time.

He just confirmed why I don't watch those morning programs anymore..they have more commercials than the super bowl.

Anyway... we sure have an up hill battle with the media.

3. This is such a surprise to me cause
I heard regis was a Democrat..and I think Kelly is, too.

If regis thought the debate was boring then that says more about regis than presidential debates.

If regis was bored then it was bush who bored him because this was bush's show ..he was defending his four years in power.

65 Million People prove him wrong..he could be sucking up to his koolaid crowd.

I know Oprah had a great Voting Party show Wed and I'll bet she didn't think the debates were "boring"!!

6. Haha, It's Kelly-Lee, as Dave Says
and you have an excellent point: We need to fight on ALL fronts, not just on "ivory tower" fronts of supposed respectability. There are votes in high and low brow venues and opinion-makers everywhere, too.

7. I really doubt it
My mom loves Regis and saw the interview on his show when Kerry was on. She said they both seemed to like him a lot.

Also Regis was on Larry King and had only nice things to say about Kerry.

Regis is probably not very interested in policy issues. Also the crowd he hangs out with isn't very pro Bush.

8. Consider the source
Regis, who just LOVES his beloved alma mater, actually would make return visits there not due to love of school, but because he was screwing around on his wife with a cheerleading blonde that worked for the institution. The Enquirer broke the story, with pictures, a few years back. Thus ends another tawdry affair! An excerpt of the sordid tale, courtesy of SALON:

According to the New York Post, the TV talker did everything he could to stop the National Enquirer from going to press with its story alleging that he had a somewhat torrid three-year affair with a former Los Angeles Rams cheerleader named Maria Majerek. The two reportedly found a deep bond in their mutual love for the Notre Dame football team.

True or not, Reeg has much to find upsetting in Majerek's diary entries. For instance, she alleges, the Millionaire man had a thing for fur: "Regis had me strip naked and put my fur coat on. We made love. It was pure raw raging sex." (A new meaning for the Domer rallying cry, "Go Irish!"?)

There's more, equally sordid, at http://archive.salon.com/people/col/reit/2000/08/08/nptues/

Regis is an idiot. I remember when he was a toady to, who was it, Merv Griffin (the gayest Republican still in the closet)? Or Mike Douglas? In any event, he is a creepy person--always thought so, when this came out, I knew why.

13. Daytime TV Is Our Friend
Regis is an "old guard/New Deal" Democrat and I've heard him discuss some very liberal views over the years. Also, his love for Notre Dame nowhere means he's some kool-aid drinkie funide, just as any Catholic who thinks counter to Vatican dogma is.

Then there's Oprah who will be highlighting more Democratic voices in the next month and has gotten behind the "get out the vote" stuff that is geared more at moderate and liberal women. The real wingnuts won't watch Oprah anyway...too black, too smart.

Plus don't forget our friend Jerry Springer whose been commuting back and forth to Ohio and doing a lot of appearances for Kerry and local Democrats.

I don't watch this tripe either, but any port in the storm. Don't be so touchy with some of these people. Methinks Regis just got bored with the sturm & drag of the debate format.
