Kerry/DNC/Dem PACS Need Debate Ads |
|
Bush has done a smart thing for once to get ads up to try and reframe the last debate.
Kerry needs to put up ads of his own that do the following: 1) Take the "leash" comment and tie it in with Abu Ghraib. 2) Hammer home the issue of tax cuts being more important that Homeland Security. 3) Outsourcing jobs and outsourcing the war on terror to Afghan warlords 4) Take the hard work issue and tie it in with Bush incompetence, then introduce Kerry plan for winning the peace.

Kerry wins if he attacks. By putting this ad out, he is putting out a response and not initiating any attack on his own.

its a counterattack. Its what you are taught to do when you study campaign tactics. YOu answer the attack, and launch a new attack of your own. Its a good tactic. And we are still attacking them on the war and on domestic policy. I trust Kerry. Remember, the Clinton people who are running this campaing now know what they are doing.

Kerry should definitely respond to the actual attack. Fair point. My point is that we've not yet seen a new attack from Kerry in an ad. He has mentioned the tax cut v. homeland security issue, but no ad yet.
BTW, I agree 100% about the Clinton guys. They should run the communications shop, no questions asked, and I think that appears to be the case right now. Lockhart and McCurry have been front and center at the expense of the original folks like Devine, who is still around, and Stephanie Cutter.
