I see the Nader apologists have adopted a new tactic
After Kerry's impressive debate performance, some Nader apologists are suggesting that Kerry will win so handily that Nader won't have any impact. According to these people, it has become safe to vote third party again.

Don't be fooled. So far, we have only seen ONE poll showing Kerry pulling ahead of Bush, and even there, Kerry's lead is within the maring of error. Moreover, that's a NATIONAL poll. This election is going to be determined by the results in as many as a dozen states where the race is still too close to call.

Don't listen to the snake oil pitches of the Nader apologists. The fact is, both the Kerry campaign and the Bush campaign anticipate that the race may not be over on election day. Both campaigns are preparing for extensive legal battles involving recounts and contests. The marin of victory in the state whose electoral votes put the winner over the top could easily be as slim as the triple digit margins in states like Florida and New Mexico back in 2000. And nobody can tell me that Nader won't get at least 1000 votes in each state where he's on the ballot.

1. speaking of...
nader and those who vote for him

i went to see motorcycle diaries tonight (very good, recommended) and saw a car with lots of leftist stickers on it.

You know those "don't blame me I voted for nader" stickers

well this person had cut out the "don't" and placed her new "Blame me I voted for nader" stickers over her green nader (2000) sticker.

that made me smirk a big ole' bush-style smirk of satisfaction (though I know, our job is far from over)

3. Well...
They're supporting a candidate who said he wanted to crawl through the air ducts and leap out onto the stage wearing a superhero cape. We're not exactly talking about the extremely politically-savvy.

6. Nader said that.
It may not have made national news, but it made the paper down here in Miami.

Free registration required, but here's the gist...

Left on the sidelines of the presidential debate, long-shot candidate and alleged race-spoiler Ralph Nader was nonetheless at the University of Miami -- criticizing the two headliners and plotting an unscripted cameo on the prime time stage.

''If I could only go through the ducts and leap out onstage in a cape -- that's my dream,'' said Nader, who enjoyed a dinner at the school's faculty club as he pondered ways to liven up what he called ''a presidential puppet show, a presidential charade'' governed by preset rules agreed on by the Bush and Kerry campaigns.

7. I don't know why he complains about being left on the sidelines.
He's being represented by his adoptive party, the Republicans.
