Why doesn't John Kerry level with the American people . . .
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 12:07 AM by Smacker
and say it like it is:

'Worst president ever'
'Lied to the American people'
'Surplus to record deficits in four short years'
'Totally in the grip of Chainy and the rest'
'Saddam is personal, and we have to clear it up'
'Impeachable'

11. It was a balancing act
between thinking about the undecided voters, and telling it like it is. But with a month to go, he has not only set the stage for telling it like it is, but not doing so would be a huge mistake. The only negative on Kerry about the first debate was that no one delivered a killer punch. Kerry has several. Bush has none.

4. Persuasion ...

Kerry is speaking to the unconvinced, not you and me.

One of the first rules of persuasion is that people are more likely to firmly believe something if they come to the conclusion on their own, rather than being told directly what to believe.

5. Seriously?
The whole premise of this administration has been to tell us what to believe and jail everyone else. There's no longer time between now and Nov 2 to sow the seeds and gather the harvest, as laudable as your sentiment would otherwise have been.

10. Seriously ...

The whole premise of this administration is information control. It presents the information it wants that supports the position it wants you to believe, and while we, as more informed citizens, perceive that as being told what to believe, the average person doesn't. (DUers are above average, you know. :-))

I know what you're saying, but the "unconvinced" don't think like that.

7. You might think so
But it wasn't getting across.

Now's the time.

And I've never heard him say More Terrorists Than Jobs, true as it is.

12. Bullshit
If you didn't hear, you didn't want to. I don't know why, don't care. But he's been saying the exact same things for two years now. Anybody who cared to know, has known.

8. or how about the way he answers ?'s
REPORTER: Thank you, Mr. President. You do have now the personal gun of Saddam Hussein. Are you willing to give it to President al-Yawar as a symbolic gift, or are you keeping it?
DUBYA: What she's referring to is a -- members of a Delta team came to see me in the Oval Office and brought with me -- these were the people that found Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq, hiding in a hole. And, by the way, let me remind everybody about Saddam Hussein, just in case we all forget. There were mass graves under his leadership. There were torture chambers. Saddam Hussein -- if you -- we had seven people come to my office. Perhaps the foreign press didn't see this story. Seven people came to my -- they had their hands cut off because the Iraqi currency had devalued. And Saddam Hussein needed somebody to blame, so he blamed small merchants. And their hands were chopped off, their right hand.
-- Wow, that must have been torture to listen to (no pun intended), Savannah, Georgia, Jun. 10, 2004

9. Well, Smacker, he's done pretty much all that
I don't know what you've been watching, but Kerry has really been hitting Bush hard. I think the American people know where Kerry stands it's just a question if they are going to follow him.
