Time Magazine calls debate a "draw" ...total neocon spin |
|
" The presidential candidates seemed to fight the first debate to a draw, which probably helps John Kerry. " http://www.time.com/time/election2004/article/0,18471,703928,00.html?cnn=yesPropaganda is becoming more obvious as the chimp shows his roots in front of 62M people at least.

...and pathetic.
If anyone thinks that debate is a "tie" they are out of their minds.
Time is showing their bias. Maybe they can get together with Gallup.

After all, look at the source: Time Magazine has been conservative since its inception years ago. And has been steadfast to its long history as such, despite the death of the founder of Time and his wife who carried on after his death. New owners? No diff. Why break w/ its successful "tradition?" heh.
Again, no surprise. I've often wondered how much it hurts Time to publish other-than-conservative stuff?! LOL
******************************* edited to add: hey, if you go to this article on the Time website, notice the poll to the right of the article. Vote for Kerry.
"Who Won the Debate?"
George W. Bush 17.5% John F. Kerry 82.2% Draw 0.3%
too damn funny !!!! *******************************

...& the NY Times has long been cancelled too.
Propaganda of the first water shouldn't have to be paid for... still, I forget how greedy they are.
You know, it is amazing to me that, while Ms Lewinski indeed had her mouth firmly affixed to the prior presidents Johnson; the very public and constant blow jobs the "Liberal Media" bestows unto Fubya's 'political organ' are not more remarked upon!
The disgust I felt is unimaginable when the NY Times today came out with, FINALLY, some real reporting into the Nigerian yellow-cake and aluminum tubes "WMD" debacle.
Gee, JUST a year and a half too late!
--and over a thousand American lives, and over tens of thousands of Iraqi lives...
Is it possibly worse than even Kafka could imagine?

12. So, they can pull that stuff off? For how long? |
|
Their own surveys must somehow indicate to them that they can do this kind of thing and get away with it. It appears that the agenda is not to inform public opinion, but to totally shape it.
Now, there are those of us who stand up and start questioning the credibility of that kind of activity. Is credibility going to matter to them in the long-run? I, for one, am now totally disenfranchised by mass media and its owners.
I know I am not alone, and I know other's will be joining in as this kind of manipulative travesty continues. Bias as news and shallow reporting are certainly prevalent across the board.
So, was Abe right? Can you fool all of the people, all of the time? Well, we are obliged to turn this into a movement in order to prove Lincoln was correct about that.
I guess that means letter writing, ey? Advertisers who use this media, regardless of their connections to the media itself, need to know we are both onto this and that we are not going to be sheeple about it.
The Media is the Massage. If you are politically active, then media is clearly even a bigger battleground than the political arena right now. If America was well-informed without such great pandering and bias, then, to me, Bush would not be holding the numbers he does.

|
First of all the President has the top spot because he is president. Second all those people and it is about half the voters will stay with Bush That leaves just a few who are not sure and most likely firm up Kerry's base. So he may have been the winner until you take out what people will do with it. You are already heading reasons why Bush did bad and guess who is to blame for it?

24. They're actually right. |
|
In elections with an unpopular incumbent, tying, or even doing worse than the incumbent, but still better than expected, is usually enough to inspire confidence in the challenger. Why? Because people want to be assured that the challenger isn't some maniac or fool or something.
The canonical example is the Carter/Reagan debates. The Bush/Gore debates are similar. Although Gore wasn't an incumbent, he was close enough. When Bush didn't urinate on himself in public, that was enough for many people to think that he might be OK as president.

23. Just fired off a response to Time |
|
On Friday October 1, John Dickerson wrote "The presidential candidates seemed to fight the first debate to a draw." Did he watch the debate?
Bush's performance was ugly and, while it is possible to 'win ugly,' he didn't.
Kerry won on substance, clearly and effectively detailing the Bush administration's failures of policy and execution. Bush had no substantive defense.
As I write, the Time on-line reader's poll shows that 82% of the respondents think that Kerry won last Thursday's debate. Would a Time sports reporter be allowed to so egregiously misreport the outcome of a significant contest?
