Sorry, but this bit conspiratorial theory is not going to take hold. The "let me finish" thing was cleary a response to motions Lehrer was making. His light was red. They were moving on. He wanted more time.
No one has yet produced any real evidence that anything was implanted in his ear. People just talk about the line. After that, it's al speculation.
Yes, Virginia, he's that big of an idiot all by himself.

4. Um...his light wasn't red; it wasn't even ON. |
|
He probably thought a pause would be construed to mean he was finished.

9. That's how I remember it, too |
|
No light. I thought it was odd, because it looked like he was talking to Lehrer, but his time wasn't in jeopardy. Maybe Lehrer looked as though he were going to cut him off.
I also thought that maybe Bush was told to look for a chance to take charge, to say something like that to Lehrer to look leaderly. It's a Rove type manipulation. Bush, though, being stupid, worked it in at a random time, and it made no sense.
I can't imagine Bush had an earpiece. I can't imagine he could have looked that stupid if someone was telling him what to say. Then again, it's hard to misunderestimate him.

10. I don't just remember it that way, I taped it. |
|
I replayed the tape. He clearly has enough time to finish.
I think that may be a device he uses when he has lost his train of thought, and needs to collect what few wits he possesses.
I wish the ear piece thing was true.

15. You could be right, about it being a rhetorical device |
|
He looked very nervous to me, like he was trying to work through something, and that's when his little one-liners come out.
They prepare him for debates by having him memorize answers and phrases, so when he gets lost he can turn to one of those phrases and sound like he almost answered the question. I think this was just a random phrase that he blurted out because he had no idea what to do next. He clearly motioned towards Lehrer when he said it, holding his hand up.
I don't think it was bug, I think it just shows how stupid he is.

11. light wasn't on at all |
|
and on c-span with the split screen you could see that Kerry wasn't making any motions to interrupt
this leaves two possibilities - Lehrer was making some sort of motion that was interpreted by bush* as a 'cut-off' signal
or - bush* was responding to something else going on in vicinity
In other broadcasts from C-Span you can often hear audibles from the surroundings - it may not be clear, but you know somebody said something -- I heard nothing of the kind during the debate from the audience that may have been mis-interepreted by bush* as an interruption
The C-span cameras were focused on bush* and Kerry - audience shots were at the beginning and end of the debates and not zoomed in any one person. Other than family members - does anyone know if any of the campaign 'advisors' were in the audience?
My :tinfoilhat: may be on too tight -- but is it possible the "let me finish" comment was made in reaction to a signal from a campaign 'advisor' in the audience?

2. It was a funny comment with all the rules set up |
|
I do not recall that Kerry did try to talk when Bush was talking. In fact it seemed as if Kerry said his thing then let Bush step in to the dog doo doo in his own good time. In the next debate James Baker will have to insert a little thing like. Kerry must start talking before Bush can make a fool or him self. The leaders in Europe must be shacking their heads about the Am. voters to have ever put in Bush.

All we see is Bush. It does not show Lehrer or Kerry trying to stop him. I'd love for this to be true, but we need to see more evidence.

implant in one of GWBush's molars?
Isn't that the "voices" he's hearing? No?
========================== "I believe that God wants me to be president." — Richard Land, a Director of the conservative evangelical Southern Baptist Convention, quoting GWBush on "the day (GWBush) was inaugurated for his second term as governor (of TX) in 1999."
"I think President Bush is God's man at this hour, and I say this with a great sense of humility," — Timothy Goeglein of the White House Office of Public Liaison told World magazine, a Christian weekly.
"God loves you, and I love you. And you can count on both of us as a powerful message that people who wonder about their future can hear." — GWBush, Los Angeles, Calif., March 3, 2004 ==========================

6. What about that bulge popping out of Bush's back? |
|
He had something taped to his back, the bulge was not normal. He has no back problems that require devices etc.

I'm surprised no one from our "watchdog media" questioned that. Oh yeah, WHAT watchdog media? They've become mere Stenographers for the Bush lie machine.

13. If he'd had an earpiece |
|
where'd they get the sutttering moron giving him the feed?
I doubt he had an earpiece...I think "Let me finish" was pure vapor lock...the same way earlier in the debate he demanded rebuttal but then opened his mouth and had nothing to say for an embarassingly long time...

don't you think somebody" in the Kerry staff wouldn't be just as cognizant that this might...could...would, be done?
They certainly have to be aware that there is no limit to high tech device desperation or proven level of sleaze that these people would not consider.
They are probably watching him closer than the FBI is watching known terrorists in the United States.
So, I'm comfortable.
