75 % of Al-Qaeda have been caught or Killed???

I keep hearing this from the Bush cabal. Shrub said twice at the debate.

Is this true? How do they derive at this percentage? Is there a link or newsreport anywhere that can independently verify this?

If they caught or killed 75% since 9/11, why cant they get the other 25%?

8. They nay have captured or killed...............
75% of previously known Bin Laden supporters, but the number of terrorists has grown exponentially since Bush attacked Iraq for no good reason.
It's like "The Trouble With Tribbles" on Star Trek. Bush's actions have boosted recruiting to an extent that they multiply faster than Bush can kill them.

3. I do not think Pakistan has killed that many.
I would have to hunt for the site but I did read most have been picked us in that country by them and only a few top people, if they know who are the top people. Bush and the Republicans talk like they are a set up Army and I think it is unlike that. We seem to know a few people who seem to be still sending us tapes and then only know the people after they kill them selfs.I do not know how we can say when we get these people unless it is when the they stop.Looks like the groups have grown as we have things going on all the time. Used to once in a while. Watch what happens in Pakistan after this last bombing.

4. There is absolutely no way to know how many even exist, let alone
claim that you got 75% of them.

5. I think that 75% sounds like
total Bushit. More than likely they haven't even phased the group as a whole. This 75% has likely been replace by 75% unknowns.

6. Like We Have A Roster?
What's so absurd is how this regime shadow boxes with abstract enemies or creates ones that don't exist.

First, we have a war on a verb...not on a country or an individual, but on an emotion, a reaction. How about a war on shivers next?

Next, there's the concept that the "terrorists" are of one cloth...the Chechens are the Saudis are the Indonesians are the Sudanese. If they wear a tent and their not Christian, they're a terrorist. It's the manifestation of a popular culture that glorifies in stereotypes.

Now is there some official roster for Al Queda? Is it in the Sporting News? Do they wear uniforms and carry dog tags?

The sad part is how so many people are so dumbfounded with the fear mongering this regime has done to open their eyes to how their being played.

back up a statement like that.

9. It was an exageration. 75% of the known Al-Qaeda leaders
at the time of the WTC attack, according to our intelligence, have been killed or captured. Bush threw out the figure twice. The first time he said 75% of their leaders had been killed or caught, the second time he said 75% of Al-Qaeda.

CNN fact-checked it immediately after the ass-whuppin'. They pointed out that we don't even know how many leaders or people there are in Al-Queda anymore, so there was no way we could know what percentage we had killed.

Nice to see you again, SS.

12. They very obviously carry membership cards
And on these cards you will find Real Name, Nom de Guerre, Date Joined Al-Qaeda, Serial Number, and Total Number of Terrorists In Al-Qaeda. It's so simple, even Bush can figure it out.

That group is so compartmented, probably not even Osama is certain exactly how many people are in it. Obviously Bush couldn't know. We also have no idea how many al-Qaeda members we have in custody--in all of the goatherders we rounded up, there have to be a few AQ members but after living in a kennel for a year and a half, would you tell them you were an AQ member? Neither would they. Seventy-five percent sounds good to the sheeple, though.

13. An extremely disingenuous claim
What he means when he says that is 75% of Al Qaeda leaders who were known to us have been captured or killed.

To claim that 75% of ALL AQ leaders were captured or killed would have to mean:

a) There weren't any who were unknown to us

AND

b) No one has since taken the place of those who were killed/captured

14. They told us shortly after 9-11 that there were tens of thousands
of Al Qaeda around the world and many (possibly thousands)in America. How many have they captured in America? ZERO is the number I believe. Granted they have locked up lots of people but have not brought charges against any. I think they pick numbers and percentages right out of their ass. How could they possibly know whether they have killed 75% of Al Qaeda?

15. I Know the Origin

Bush had a sheet put together right after 9-11 that had the faces of 20 known al-Qaeda leaders (which as someone rightly pointed out, is far from the total number and speaks more to how little we know about this group). Bush, being the infantile, immature bed-wetter that he is, kept this sheet in his top desk drawer and like a junior high kid, put an "X" through every face on that sheet, when they were killed or captured. As of today, 16 of the 20 have X's through them.

Several points need to be emphasized:

(1) Since the CIA estimates that 15,000 to 20,000 mujahadeen went through bin Laden's training camps in Afghanistan, we have probably killed or captured less than 10% of that total.
(2) The biggest fish remain at large, namely Usama bin Laden and Dr. Al-Zawahiri. They have the potential to do grave damage to this country.
(3) The two biggest fish are still at large because of Bush's failure at Tora Bora. If you doubt me, read "Task Force Dagger - The Hunt for bin Laden" by Robin Moore. The Green Berets were begging to be sent in, but word came from the White House (Karl Rove?) to use Afghan tribal mercenaries, who probably accepted a bribe from bin Laden to let him go. Yet another White House blunder.
(4) This 75% figure is as bogus as everything that comes out of the White House Lie Factory and the chief elf, Karl Rove.

17. First- It's 75% of those known to be Al Qaeda leaders as of 9/11
Bush pulled this number out of his hat at his convention acceptance speech. Previous estimates were far lower. Bush and company have given NO documentation what so ever to support their claim that they have captured or killed 75% of known Al Qaeda leaders. Counter Terrorism experts say this number is "absolutely meaningless" (www.msn.com/id/5945061/site/newsweek/).

We know for a fact that Al Qaeda is recruiting all the time. We also know that the war in Iraq has proven a great boon for Al Qaeda recruitment. We also know that Al Qaeda does not keep membership rosters like a country club. All estimates on Al Qaeda membership are just that - estimates. We have no way of knowing how many of those killed or captured were really involved in Al Qaeda.

From a White House Fact Sheet: These are the actual Al Qaeda leaders known captured or killed (3 whole peole - we also know that previously the White House listed Al Zarqawi as dead - he is now their #1 bad guy - what you want to bet his "death" is still included in the numbers?):
Mohammed Atef, al Qaeda's senior field commander, killed in a bombing raid in Afghanistan; Abu Zubaydah, Osama bin Laden's field commander after the killing of Atef, captured in Pakistan; as well as al Qaeda senior leader Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was captured in Pakistan.
