U.S. Election Security Faces Tricky Balancing Act
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. officials hoping to stop a possible al Qaeda attack before the November election face the difficult task of providing enough security without scaring voters away from the polling stations.

Since April, U.S. officials have warned they have intelligence showing al Qaeda was planning a "large scale" attack in the United States in an effort to disrupt the presidential campaign.

2. Who the heck wrote that lead sentence?
U.S. officials hoping to stop a possible al Qaeda attack before the November election ...

There is absolutely no evidence that there is any "possible" "attack" to "stop." I would expect better of Reuters.
