check in from around the country - how many local ads feature *? |

I've noticed in Republican political ads running in Kansas and Missouri that not ONE of them mentions GWB, or shows the obligatory photo of the candidate shaking chimpo's hand. They all viciously attack their opponent, of course - the Missouri governor's race is particularly ugly - but why aren't these Republicans riding BunnyBoy's 'coattails'? Why is he the elephant in the room they never bring up, even though the polling shows him ahead in red-state Kansas AND Missouri?
Is anyone seeing local political ads for Republicans that even HINT of a mention of our 'strong popular war-time pResident'? Or are your Republican candidates running away from this stooge as fast as their legs will take them?

1. In NM, the Dem ads sure do |
|
They're tying the voting records of Steve Pearce (R-dumbshit) and Heather Wilson (R-Cow) to Bush, giving both of them a 90% pro Bush voting record, citing all the stupid Rethuglican votes that cut veterans's services (both wrap themselves in the flag and play the military card), fattened drug companies on seniors' backs, and the like.
Using Bush in an ad may be very effective this year.

2. Pete Coors's ads mentioned GWB during the primaries... (CO) |

Now, Coors's ads don't mention GWB at all, and they try to smear the Democratic challenger (and eventual winner) Ken Salazar by connecting his views with GASP! Kerry's.
However, Coors offered some lukewarm praise of Bush's national defense policy, when he addressed a group of vets yesterday...
"I can tell you I don't give this administration a failing grade," Coors said.
I also like Coors's comments around supporting the Patriot Act...
"We need tools today that are different tools than we have had to have in our country," Coors said.
Here's to getting rid of all the "tools" in Washington!!!! MKJ
