Still waiting for the dems or dems groupies to run the ad with bush flip flops using Bush's own words, you know the kind, "I......." followed by "Now I......". would be very powerful and the flip flop meme is the last thing the repubs have going for them these days.

or how about an ad with the worst pics of bush from the debate, with bush's own words playing over the pics...."being prez is hard work" etc.

wish I had a million $$ to make and run ads hehe

1. it won't happen
As much as we know Bush is a flip flopper, the Bush stereotype is that he is stubborn and refuses to admit any mistakes and will do anything to win. SO the flip flop thing won't work. There isn't time for voter education. We just have to hammer his negatives.

3. That's exactly why it WILL work
Showing his duplicity and opportunism on things like going back to the U.N., the steel tarrifs and the justifications for Iraq show that the principal contention of his character--steadfastness--is a crock of shinola. That rips the carpet out from under their whole argument.

All their eggs are in this basket case; they've shown him to be the great god-king without whom our civilization will be swept away. The very best thing that can be done is to run commercials entirely comprised of clips of his nastiness, vacillation, gaffes and outright misleading. The most effective ads so far were the ones using his voice against him.

Hold him up to ridicule and derision, and then state: this is your president; you happy with that?

All of their hopes rest on the image of this one man, and his very image is damning; that is the absolutely best way to dispose of him.

7. I don't think we should even use the term "flip flop"
because it reinforces the publics FIRST impression of the term, rather than correcting it.
You don't want to borrow the taint from the RW's talking points, that's counterproductive in the worst way.

For an example of how that doesn't work, remember in the debate, when Bush kept quoting Kerry's "wrong war, wrong time, wrong place"? even though he was attempting to refute it, the more he repeated it, the more it worked against Bush because it reminded the viewer if its FIRST USE.

the "flip flop" charge is false when used against Kerry, but even if its correctly used against Bush, it reminds people of its use against Kerry, and you've resurrected doubts again where there shouldn't be any.

I think Kerry did the better riposte: showing that being steadfast AND WRONG is worse than adjusting to new information. That way, "flipflop" is countered without being reconjured up.

6. I've always said....
that Kerry needs a quick little comeback to the "flip-flopper" comment...something along the lines of, "If Bush says I'm a 'flip-flopper', then Bush is a ............."

I've never been able to come up with a witty reply, but something along the lines of what Lizzy is about right....

"collossal flop"?

I agree, Kerry and the DNC need to do an ad on Bush's flips/flops.

Maybe do an ad called, "Commander in Flop".....now is the right time...

5. A caller to the Hartman show Friday had the best words for an ad
He was a pilot for commercial airlines, talking about landing a plane. Said if all the instruments said everything ok, and the traffic controller said everything ok, but if he felt evidence of a wind shear he would abort the landing and come around again.

It was his duty as a pilot to consider the safety of his passengers first. And that it was the duty of a president to consider the people of his nation first, and to weigh all evidence as it became available and change course when necessary.

I am paraphrasing, but his words were powerful and from the heart. They are in this show during the Bernie Ward segment:

8. I'm happy with the ads. This morning, central Florida has been
inundated with new Kerry Ads. All of them are powerful. All like music to my ears.

9. Flip Flop ad
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 12:36 PM by makapuu72
Bush tells the truth about who he really is.Look at facial expressions in the Kerry debate and the same expression on his face during the 911 seven minutes of not doing anything while our country was being attacked. This would make a great ad for some body to air.Great follow up to swiftboat BS.
