Something strange going on in this little town in central Florida
In 2000 and 2002 we had the Republican Headquarters here, today nothing. The only sign on the main Hwy(44)is a large Kerry/Edwards sign. In 2000 there were Bush/Cheney signs everywhere, in 2002 Jeb signs everywhere. Not that many Bush/Cheney bumper stickers now, in 2000 nearly everyone had a Bush/Cheney on their car. This was a very strong Republican area. My memory of 2000 election day was over hearing a guy at the front of the room in the poling place saying "it's our turn now" This was early in the morning.

1. Thanks for the report!
The "closet Kerry supporters" will not put bumper stickers on their cars or signs in their yards, but they will vote for him on Nov. 2.

2. That's how it is
where I live, in Irvine, CA, too. In 2000, there was one little Gore/Lieberman headquarters, and hardly any Gore signs or bumperstickers. Now there are at least five Kerry/Edwards headquarters that I know of. I see Kerry/Edwards bumperstickers everywhere. Yesterday at the grocery store, out of about 15 cars, t here were six Kerry bumperstickers. And I never get flipped off or cussed out with my bumpersticker, like I did in 2000. Now people wave at me.

3. Same Here in Naples, Florida
And this is big time Repugnant land!

There are still a lot of * stickers, but the support for a Democratic candidate here for Kerry is unprecedented.

We opened a new headquarters, and to my knowledge that has never happened in this county.

I'm actually getting thumbs-up on the beach for my "Anyone But Bush" T-shirt, along with lots of Hrrrmphs and sighs! :bounce:

4. Kerry/edwards bumber stickers
Friday we drove my mom back to vero Bch, she stayed with us during the last hurricane. We are in Cocoa, to pass the time I decided to count bumber stickers. The total for both ways, Kerry 27, Bush 3. I am astounded! Lots of Kerry signs in vero, thats repug country.

We spent 2 days getting my mom settled in, cleaning up debris, patching what we could, securing things for her. It is really bad in her area, her neighbor across lost her home, mom was very lucky. She still is without power, hopefull it will be on soon. Laura's and daughters were in vero while we were there, we didn't know it. But it explained why the traffic was so bad and we were so frustrated trying to get to the store for ice and some supplies. Wrong move, people are tired and frantically looking for gas, ice supplies to repair things. It was a nightmare for all those trying to get things done. A lot of unkind remarks were made about her photo op, not too many were impressed
We are all gradually getting our lives back together, some will never, the financial burden will be too great. My sister and brother and children are all helping mom. We hope the insurance company will be fair with her. Some of the residents in her park carried no insurance , could not afford it on a fixed income. Fema will help some of them.

5. Midland County MI/GOP Stronghold
If you drove thru town today,
you'd see Kerry signs by a ratio of
70/30.

a friend with ties to the dem party says their
polling shows Kerry ahead. That's a huge, huge
upset, if true.
