Kerry wins global test flap and wins it big! |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 12:18 PM by Pepperbelly
Look first at what Kerry actually said:
What is your position on the whole concept of preemptive war? KERRY: The president always has the right, and always has had the right, for preemptive strike. That was a great doctrine throughout the Cold War. And it was always one of the things we argued about with respect to arms control.
No president, through all of American history, has ever ceded, and nor would I, the right to preempt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America.
But if and when you do it, Jim, you have to do it in a way that passes the test, that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons.
Thus, a global test means is: 1- where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing; and 2- you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons.
These dinks MUST distort and pretend to be ignorant of what was said. They know what was said and yet they mischaracterize it because if they do not distort, they have nothing.

1. I look forward to the day when our politicians can say it like it is.... |
|
we can't go to war for a bunch of corporations and their politicians and think tankers and military partners who want to test new toys and theories and make a little extra salary, corporate media, plus constitution changers - who have their combined agenda on the table.
Let these politicians say it loud - right in front of the camera.

2. Yes, we are winning and CAN win this one...we have |
|
to KEEP it in the news. They seized on this and wanted to make it an issue, and now we need to slam them back.
They think we don't need any proof of anything to invade a country that has never attacked us. Well, they need to think again.

6. Agreed - There are so many good responses to the new ad from the RNC |
|
on this. Hope the Dem spoke people are ready this week. Here are just a few I came up with, I'm sure others can do better.
1. I'm flattered that the RNC was so impressed with my debate performance that they've made an ad about it. I haven't seen any ads using footage of the President's performance - I wonder why.. Maybe we should make one.
2. Kerry's statement and his intentions couldn't have been clearer. The RNC has taken a phrase out of context and distorted it's meaning. Are they deliberately twisting the meaning of Kerry's words for political purposes (i.e. lying) or are they just plain stupid.
