GLOBAL TEST = RIGHT OR WRONG.
Its not about whether or not you get permission from other countries. Its whether or not people can see that what you are doing is justified and honorable. THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE.

We CANNOT allow these repugs to turn it into something else.

GLOBAL TEST = RIGHT OR WRONG.

2. let's not keep making new threads about this
we're letting the repubs set the parameters again.

their argument is lame, let it lie.

4. No, I think we oughta hit them back on this.
They're saying that we don't need any kind of proof of a threat to invade another country PRE-EMPTIVELY. THAT is ridiculous, and it's exactly what we should call it.

13. It's the repukes attempt to take the heat off of Bush's performance
I always fall into the "hit 'em back hard" camp but this is one time that I feel we'd be playing into their hands. It's much ado about nothing. No need for statements, just have surrogates prepared to speak to Kerry's meaning, as they have been this morning.

7. I was hesitant to add fuel to the fire, but this is an important point
You say we need to be on the offense, but ignoring this and allowing them to turn it into some new talking point without being clearly and definitively refuted is exactly the wrong way you do that.

11. The repubs don't care if their judgement passes muster
With their countrymen or the world.

14. "Let it lie"
Sounds like the swift boat response tactic again. The best offense is to turn the "global test" comment into fact. Kerry could say - Japan and Germany in world war 2 stood the globabl test. Afganistan stood the "global test"

3. Can't get much simpler than that! And YES...SHOUT IT OUT!
I agree totally, to spend 5 paragraphs explaining it is to lose the message. Great succinct message! :bounce:

5. someone needs to tell Terry McAuliffe that...
He just did the worlds best job of arguing Ed Gillespie's position on just that on Sheep Blitzer just now...
He had the worlds best opportunity to shut up the repugs once and for all and blew it. Its so exasperating.

9. I thought McAuliffe did a good job, but he wasn't clear.
As I was typing this, though, Howard Dean just put it just right.

12. WRONG for Winning U.S. Elections, But RIGHT for Leader of the Free World
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 12:46 PM by WiseMen
Evidence that is good enought for Wolfowitz and Joe six pack
is only good enought to get us in a F*king mess and destroy
our global relationships.

You don't destroy a foreign country that has not attacked you,
unless the EVIDENDE that they INTEND to attack will be
credible to other foreign countries.

If you do, you will have violated the fundamental principles
of international relations that the U.S. has committed to over
the past 50 years and will be viewed as a danger to every other country in the world.
