1. For the next debate they should have GW leave right after the handshake |
|
That way it will look like a tie.

5. that Time article (the reality checks) does more than any poll |
|
The article was great in pointing out how the Bush administration is either delusional, and as such, has no concept of reality, or is consistently misleading people to believe that things are just peachy.

6. I was very shocked by this time.com poll |
|
I actually subscribe to Time Magazine (well for 1 year - got a deal - $24.95). I wanted to follow the election coverage and I've been reading this piece of trash on and off since the subscription began about 8 months ago.
Its been all * or bust.
Now it isn't.
The tide hath turnith on the boy king IMO.
When you see this extreme right wing publications even saying * is cracked, delusional and out of touch with reality, we KNOW that this is indeed REALITY.
Thanks to all for voting in this poll! :D

9. Since "DU-ing a poll" just came up on another thread |
|
I'd like to point out, just for the uninformed, that we are recommending you go vote on the thing, not that you go vote, clear your cookies, and vote multiple times (otherwise known as "freeping").
A distinction without a difference? Naive?
I don't think so for several reasons, but here are the most cogent ones:
1) I'm a webmaster for a high-traffic site. Everyone knows these polls are unscientific; they were invented to drive traffic and return visits. So recommending people go vote on 'em is absolutely intended and fair game. It's essentially what they were designed for.
2) Maybe "1" strikes people as a figleaf or something; so be it. But part two is: there's a history here. In the earlier days of DU, back two-three years ago, we prided ourselves on discovering that the Freepers were doing this and on reporting and stymying it when it was happening. They had the instructions up on how to do it, and would send out "freep this poll!" alerts. We would send those posts to webmasters at media sites small and large, and quite frequently got freeped polls pulled down. So there's a history here that is very much against the grain of cheating on the things.
Fortunately a lot of 'em now are using IP addresses to bar multiple voting. That certainly has holes in it, but it does make it a bit harder to Freep 'em. But like I say, telling a lot of like-minded people to go vote is very much in harmony with the real purpose of these polls anyway. Hey, that's what a get-out-the-vote drive is, isn't it? But cheating on 'em is very much against the spirit of this place--or at least that's my view.

11. When I say DU this poll I mean vote on it |
|
Most of these polls online don't allow you to vote more than once. I don't clear my cache or delete the cookies personally.
Thanks for your insight and comments.

13. If Bush wins after all this, |

I hope the Democrats ride his ass all the way to 2008 just like the Repigs did Clinton when he was in office.

16. George actually made points in the debate? |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 02:13 PM by MissMarple
One of the choices is winning on the points. Right... :eyes:
And, if you total the separate choices for Kerry and for George, the totals aren't that far apart.
Welcome to DU pimbot!
