Drudge: Kerry cheated in the debate
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 01:28 PM by WilliamPitt
Looks like a pen to me:

http://www.drudgereport.com/dnc57.htm

DEBATE MYSTERY: WHAT DID KERRY SLIP OUT OF HIS POCKET?

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils
with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage ? What did Kerry place on the podium?

Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.

"John Kerry brought prohibited material into last Thursday's Presidential Debate," charged indcjournal.com.

Maybe Kerry pulled out his "tan in a can" spray. Or maybe it was a love note from Alexandra Polier.

89. It is not a pen, hanky?
Everyone can see it for themselves here starting at about 1 minute 50 seconds into the video. I don't know what it is maybe a hanky? It is not a pen.

96. I think it was a handkerchief
Because remember what the Bushistas were saying about Kerry being "a sweater."

I specifically remember him pulling it out, and I remember thinking, in my head, with a little chuckle, "he's got a handkerchief, in case he starts sweating."

My money's on sweat rag.

100. No, I don't think so -- or at least I didn't see it
I'm just telling you what happened with me. I'm not 100 percent sure, but, in retrospect, I specifically remember seeing that he had a handkerchief and thinking it was there in case he started sweating.

It would also make sense as to why he whipped it out of his pocket on the turnaround -- this thing was scripted and hyped and tense, down to the second -- he probably didn't want people to see he brought a handkerchief.

Of course, my memory could be from something later, you never know. But I do believe he had a hanky out on his podium.

So yes, this probably means that shrimpy-chimpy cheated in some way.

The shrimpy-chimp probably snuck in notes and may well have also had a hearing piece. Even if we have no proof I think we should put accusations directed at chimp out there. Distract and befuddle - it's the only way to combate rove's lie-machine.

21. Does Drudge realize that this just makes them look pathetic?
His "Bush was tired from visiting Hurricane victims" thing didn't work and now he is claming Kerry was cheating because he brought a pen to the debates?

Does Drudge realize that he is making Bush look like a sore loser?

What did Kerry supposedly bring? A 4 pt font copy of the Constitution? A note with world leaders names spelled phonetically?
Something that said "Hey, don't forget to talk about Iraq?"

Bush lost. End of story. He should of prepared more and taken tougher questions during his campaign.

Be a man and move on .... There are still two debates to go.

It shows how little they have. The "global test" story isn't working for them; the "george was tired from too much empathy and hard work" story makes them seem like girly men; the minions think Rove was bought off by Kerry's billions.

They have no place to hit so they make conspiracies. It's the sad, defensive world of republican wimpery. They just have to acknowledge that poor georgie is a pansy.

68. speaking of Giuliani
GIULIANI: This conversation is over, David. Thank you. There is something really, really, very sad about you. You need help. I know you feel insulted by that, but I'm being honest with you. This excessive concern with little weasels is a sickness. There are probably very few people who would be as honest with you about that. But you should go consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist, and have him help you with this excessive concern, how you are devoting your life to weasels. Something has gone wrong with you. Your compulsion about it, your excessive concern with it, is a sign of something wrong in your personality. I do not mean to be insulting. I'm trying to be honest with you, and I'm trying to give you advice for your own good. I know you. I know how you operate. I know how many times you called here this week. Three or four o'clock in the morning, David, you called here. You have a sickness. I know it's hard for you to accept that, because you hang on to this sickness, and it's your shield, it's your whatever. And I know you're real angry at me, you're going to attack me, but actually you're angry at yourself, and you're afraid of what I'm raising with you. And if you don't deal with it, I don't know what you're going to do. But you called here excessively all week, and you called here at three o'clock in the morning. And four o'clock in the morning. Over weasels. Over a ferret.

There were plenty of people there who could see for themselves what happened. I'm sure if there really was "cheating" it would have been brought up before now, in more official ways.

BTW, I noticed at one point, during one of Bush's answers, he turned his "note paper" over. Why would he need to turn it over? Hmmmm???
(kidding--I don't really care. Obviously, if he was cheating, it didn't help him very much.)

I had to pick myself up off the floor. That was hysterical. This poor little freeper lady had to say something spectacularly outrageous like that to excuse his complete BOMB of a performance.

The moderator did set it all straight after she got off the pone saying that security is extremely high for all his appearances, and, moreover, he said that Kerry would have to be wearing one too if Bush wore one. Just passed it off for the tripe that it was.

It's amazing how far these people will go to "clothe" their naked little Emperor. Blech!

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX

DEBATE MYSTERY: DID BUSH HAVE HIDDEN EARPIECE OR TRANSMITTER?

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did GOP presidential contender George W. Bush have protruding from the back of his sport coat during Thursday evening's presidential debate?

Why the bizarre "let me finish!" outburst and frequent dead air pauses?

Video replays of the Bush maneuvers played all weekend on the internet.

Many savvy observers and tech specialists have suggested that the visual and auditory evidence indicates Bush was using some type of broadband transmitter or earpiece device, possibly relaying messsages from Senior Advisers Karl Rove and Karen Hughes.

If true, this would not be the only rule in the "Memorandum of Understanding" that the Bush Campaign has broken since the debate. They are now running an advertisement containing debate footage, which both campaigns explicitly agreed not to do in the memorandum.

It was a digital scrambling device that was used to interfere with Karl Rove's signals to Bush's listening device! That's it -- Kerry cheated by interfering with Preznit Turkee's hidden earpiece!

Solves it all.

Like Kerry could have carried a comprehensive enough 'cheat sheet' in his pocket to cover a 90-minute f*cking smackdown like he delivered? Pleeze.

Some people from both sides can't seem to get their minds around the fact that the debate was simply what it was. Kerry kicked Bush's ass. It's really the simplest explanation.

In the same video clip however, Bush is seen unfolding a piece of paper. The paper was already provided for them. Bush had a crib sheet! Watch carefully in Bush's hands as he unfolds the paper while Kerry draws his pen.

124. BushCo is running scared
These pictures are *obviously* amateur photo shop stuff. The entire debate was filmed with state of the art high-resolution cameras. The same cameras we saw the debate through. Seems some Nefarious Right Wing Cons figured that if they purposely blurred the crystal sharp pictures enough they can convince the shocked and depressed in the Bush camp that Kerry pulled a fast one. LOL.

It’s a testament to how much damage Kerry did to Bush in the debate. The Repugs are in a state of panic right now wondering how they can possibly explain Shrub’s disastrous performance...hence this Crap.

Yet all is not good. The good is the obvious; Bush's handlers see Shrub’s polling numbers plummet. The bad is, these Thugs play for keeps and as sure as the sun rises they will pull any double dealing card they can to keep Shrub *the eternally compromised* in power.

The Kerry Campaign must be prepared for everything and anything from BushCo. BushCo has hundreds of billions of cozy insider money at stake in this election and a lot of sh*t can happen when that kind of money is involved.

125. Drudge catches Bush cheating during the debate:American Blog

Matt Drudge has been on a roll lately in terms of posting anti-Kerry attacks photos, documents, etc., that end up biting Bush in the ass. Drudge outdoes himself today with a post claiming Kerry came to the debate podium and allegedly takes a sheet of paper out of his breast pocket. The debate rules apparently say that you can bring NOTHING to the podium not even paper or pencil, and that all the materials will be placed for you on the podium.

Oh, but only as Drudge can do, the video Drudge posts as "proof" on his site bites Bush in the ass. If you zoom the video to full screen (right click on it while it's running and click "zoom" and then "full screen") you can see Bush unfolding a piece of paper and laying it down on his podium! Remember the debate rules say all paper will already be on the podium, and unless the debate organizers folded the paper up in a wad before placing it on the podium, Bush is cheating with his own cheat sheet.

Now, I could care less about this issue, but how dare Drudge and company try to come up with a scandal here when their own boy is caught doing exactly what they're accusing Kerry of doing?

Check out the Drudge video and keep your eyes on Bush's hands - notice his unfolding and laying flat a piece of paper. Priceless. (I particularly like the cheesy 1970s porn music in the background of the video.)
