If Kerry wins the next debate, it's in the bag BUT.... |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 02:34 PM by Cascadian
If Kerry wins the whole thing, the time between November 2nd to January 20th (Ignaguration Day) is going to be the scariest. I get a strange feeling that the Bushites are going to pull off something catastrophic that could prevent Kerry from entering the White House. These people are pure evil and will do anything dirty and underhanded to keep their power.

2. I doubt there will be a clear winner in the next two debates |
|
The issues are more muddy. Both candidates will tout statistics that are in their favor. Its unlikely that Bush will have the same demeanor. Kerry has better poll numbers on the economy, his job is not to loose that advantage in the debate.

7. My sense is that the chimp might "over-correct" |
|
in the next debate and come off lackadaisical--like Pickles on too much Vicodin. He has done this at press conferences in the past--when he gets too annoyed in one setting, they send him out "corrected" but he goes too far because he doesn't have a sense of propriety or any notion of boundaries/socially acceptable behaviors. Instead, he constantly has to reinvent his authenticity, which makes him appear idiotic when he has to deal with others as peers.

10. Its possible. Maybe even I don't realize how inept |
|
he is. I'll say this, one more bad performance and he's done. You know what is truly amazing to me, is I don't think one major media journalist has suggested Bush may have lost the election in that first debate. That is absolutely shocking. They are so afraid of this administration.

3. What if they RFK our Candidate? |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 02:51 PM by AndyTiedye
When they did that in 1968, the convention hadn't happened yet, and we had no other viable candidates. Now we do, but it is past the filing deadline in every state, and state laws vary on how to handle such a situation.
Also, what happens if they do it after the Electoral College has voted, but before Kerry has a chance to take office? The Constitution is not altogether clear on that point.
I suppose Cheney and Scalia may have discussed this on one of their duck hunting expeditions, since the regime would want to know how the Supremes might rule if such a case came to them.

5. If that happens then....it all starts! |
|
I think people will take to the streets. It could get very ugly. If they try to pull anything like that. They could all look at what happened to Paul Wellstone days before the 2002 election. The more you kill off your opponents, the less people are going to likely believe the excuses. I think people will be angry and suspicious if something happens to Kerry.

6. I've said it before, I'll say it again... |

Kerry will not have won this election until he is actually in the White House. Do NOT rest until that day. If this current administration thinks there is the slightest chance they can maintain power by any means, they WILL try it. If they think they can get away with election fraud, they will do that.
If they think they can get away with court challenges, they will do it.
If they think they can get away with cancelling the elections via martial law, they will do it.
If they think they can stay in power simply by not moving out of the the White House, they will do it.
You must not only beat this people in the election. You must be prepared to defeat every other method they will try to use to stay in power, right down to physically evicting them from the White House.

8. don't think I'd go that far. |

Purposely messing things up would be a strategic mistake that would all but guarantee Republican losses at the polls for the next couple decades.
Remembering all the shredding that happened the last time a Republican was in the White House, it's a safe bet that they'll be destroying any documents that could embarrass any Republican in the future. We'll see a news story next February wherein the National Archivist complains that he recieved about 40% of the number of documents he expected to see from a typical 4 year presidential term...

9. I don't think we're going to see a rout like Debate 1 again. |
|
Rove/Hughes won't let it happen. The next couple debates will be more of a wash. I doubt Bush tanks like he did in the first debate.
