Kerry's post-debate ad: "He’s Lost, He’s Desperate."
Watch at http://www.johnkerry.com/video/player.php?video=100304_lost_desperate
George Bush lost the debate
Now he’s lying about it

This is what John Kerry really said…:
“The president always has the right for preemptive strike.
I will hunt and kill the terrorists, wherever they are.”

But here’s something new about George Bush
Newspapers report he withheld key intelligence information from the American public,
So he could overstate the thread Iraq posed.

George Bush rushed us into war
Now we’re paying the price
It’s time for a fresh start
Note that his campaign is now using the word lying. This is red meat for his base. It also sends a powerful message that he's not afraid to go after w personally.

Note also that the disclaimer, "I'm John Kerry, and I approved this message" is at the END of the ad, instead at the beginning where conventional wisdom argues it should go when the ad is so negative. This seems entirely deliberate, and sends the message that JK very much WANTS his name associated with it.

The killer inside John Kerry is on the loose.

1. Let loose the dogs of war
Only because we DU'ers have been on the receiving end of continuous scum attacks from the most ruthless political machine in modern history that we'll let the killer instinct in Kerry go unrestrained.

Kerry is on the hunt and the prey is in his sight, Rove you have unleashed a killing machine that was trained to take no prisoners, its payback time.

10. Wow, I hope this isn't too harsh
If it looks like Kerry is beating up on bush when he is down it could backfire. It is one thing to beat up in the challenger. It's something altogether different to beat up on a sitting President.

Some one reasure me please.

13. Well, Kerry Used Precise Language In The Debate. And GOP Has Spun It
trying to make it seem he said the exact OPPOSITE.

It is a LIE!

Further, let's think about what BUSH's "Doctrine" is... kill everything that moves.

While he's in a position of strength. Now is the time. Finish him. We only have 30 days, no time to fool around. Kerry has to solidify his advantage, he can't slip back.

Courage! :)

15. Chimp made himself look vulnerable and weak
during the debate. Now it's time to ridicule him, as he ridiculed Kerry, to weaken him further. Hit him with body blows before you go for the knock out punch. Expose him. Weaken him further. Then watch him wilt.

16. Got to agree
This ad is very risky. If we're gaining ground, we don't want to piss it away on ads which alienate waverers.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'd be happier if the ad were pulled.

19. Maybe
...but we're better than them. We're pulling ahead on the strength of our candidate, not smear adverts. Even if it's not a smear that Bush lied, it'll be seen as one by a lot of people who we're going to want on our side come Nov. 2nd.

Just my 2 cents, anyway.

21. Yes those RW smear ads against Kerry just had them
wringing their hands at the WH I'm sure. "Oh! We might offend the delicate sensibilities of the voting public! Oh! I hope these don't make our poll numbers go higher!"

Yeah. Karl Rove, Andy Card, and Karen Hughes have ethics. That's why they wrote that pansy boy's swagger into his RNC acceptance speech.

To the Bullshit Bush ad with the Kerry will sell us out to the French crap. I'm proud of them that they decided to dog that ad wherever it aired with their "answer" (b-slap).

37. I don't have a problem
using the "lie" word for the rest of the ad, just the losing debate part of it. Seems to be gloating. Just my .02. Plus if the Repugs can replay his words from the debate, they might be able to reinforce that "flip-flopper" tag we finally put to bed. Just saw the Newsweek poll on MSNBC. Could be wrong, but I thought we had pulled ahead on that one.

25. No, this is good!
It's hard but not shrill and it's accurate. It would be a mistake to just rest on the debate. It's right to take another clean shot to keep 'em off balance as they try to prepare for the next debate.

26. Look at it this way...
Kerry is speaking the truth. Speaking the truth is not "beating up" on someone.

Letting your thug buddies accuse Kerry of being a traitor to the country is beating up on someone.

And IMO, a sitting president doesn't deserve special treatment, especially this one, who so blatantly uses and abuses people for his political benefit.

22. This is good.
Kerry is showing that he's learned the mistakes of the Gore campaign. Take no prisoners. Finish off the enemy. If I'm not mistaken, this ad will run in the same markets as Bush's new misleading ad. We can't afford to take anything for granted in this election. We've got to hammer home the point that Bush is a failure by all accounts.

The ad was short, simple, and therein lies its effectiveness. The words George Bush "LOST" the debate and now he's "LYING" about it will linger in people's minds.
