Freeper election day dirty trick
I was just gleefully reading through a long depressed thread at freepyville and stumbled on a post talking about a dirty trick planned by the repugs - tying up voter reg rental vans.

The thread is:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1234292/posts?q=1&&page=251

and the post is #289

---

In the final analysis this stuff doesnt' matter. Call the campaign and volunteer. Note that the campaign knows which rental vans the Dems are getting election day in cities. Renting the day before and just keeping them past return date and paying the extra day charges is a great strategy and the campaign will need drivers in the cities where the Dem votes are. Be sure to call and volunteer. You'll need to be available a few days before the election and on that day too to drive the vans out to the suburbs where are voters are.

---

I guess the only voters live in the suburbs. I didn't know that! ;^}

2. HA
I'm Mexican. We've shoved 8 people in a Suzuki Sidekick. There is no way to stop truly dedicated people, especially when it comes to stopping Shrub.

3. Pure repuke.
Who but a republican would behave like that AND ADMIT IT.

I was about to start off on a riff about fair play, but remembered that comes from several decades ago -- just showing my age.

This is the oldest election day trick in the book.

8. How stupid can they get?
First, not that many rental vans out of the total available will be required. So the Freepers will have to rent them all to make even a small dent. That's a lot of money that could otherwise be spent on Cuban cigars and herbal Viagra.

Second, most of the Democratic organizations have already put their dibs in for rental vans. They will be renting on Election Day for overflow capacity. And, forgive the phrase, "Megadittos" for the GOP, who rent the vans, too.

Third, this is illegal -- not that such fine legal points have stopped Conservative activists before. And at some point, people are going to start wanting Conservatives to suffer "the Consequences" of their crimes, just like wayward Liberals have suffered under Conservative rule.
