Bush is a loser, and the loser of this first debate. The second debate will be upon us before the issue of "cheating" is ever resolved to the satisfaction of the right-wing press.

And, in the second debate, and probably the third, Kerry may well pull a pen out of pocket and make notes. Bush will probably muster every trick he can manage to give himself a lead. Doesn't change the reality of the situation. Bush is hopelessly mired in his own record over the last near four years. Bush has been preparing his own downfall for all that time. Now he's about to experience it.

Kerry doesn't have to do a thing but let Bush be Bush, and for him to be himself. That's enough.

The proper response to hysteria is calm deliberation. Kerry will provide that.

if someone is not following the rules, it was up to the moderator to call attention to it.

I took that to mean that if the moderator did not see Bush with his "hand jive" on his chin or the power pack underneath his suit jacket or writing with his sharpie pen on a piece of white paper(and the sharpie didn't bleed through) it did not happen.
