Is anyone else as giddy as I am about..... |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-04-04 12:23 AM by damkira
Tuesdays VP debate?
After Shrub totally humiliated himself in front of 62 million people, we get to see to see an evil, scowling little man who looks like Danny DeVito playing The Penguin and has to resort to scaring people into voting for him against a bright, optimistic, good looking Senator.
Even the dumbest American will be able to see the total dichotomy and hopefully it will send Evil Dick back to his hidey hole and he will never return. Optimism will defeat fear, and not only this administration but its entire ideology will be destroyed for a generation.

I'm more excited about these debates than the Presidential debates. It'll be so fascinating to see Satan up against that angel that is John Edwards. In addition to the physical appearance, with which there is no comparison, I can't wait to see Edwards pounce with that smile on his face.

2. I get more so every day. There is nothing * can do that will look honest. |
|
I'm Giddy because I know Kerry will be President not because * will fade away to a sad pathetic loser like his dad and his mom will smack him and humiliate him for the rest of his life.

3. Remember, we are to lower expectations. |
|
If we are too giddy about this, Cheney will win by showing up. Also remember Cheney is no Bush. He is both articulate and intelligent. John Edwards has never had to debate someone as knowlegable as Cheney . This will not be a walk in the park. And Cheney will want vengence for Bush's trouncing.

11. Yes, the experienced Cheney will kick Pretty Boy's inexperienced ass |
|
And, make no mistake "the danger is that we'll get hit again, that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."
Edwards is just a trial lawyer. Cheney has MUCH more experience and will take Edwards to the wood shed!
Right?

14. I think Dick will try the Daddy tack |
|
Let me tell you how life is, young fellow... He'll do a pitying expression while John E. is talking to imply that his optimism is too naive for these dangerous times... He'll cite all the crises he has weathered... Perhaps drop names of the leaders with whom he has served...

9. That's not true at all...he may eat babies... |
|
but cheney is the most despised pol in the arena...his #'s are the lowest of any VP in the past 100 years, and he is even lower in respect than Bug-Boy DeLay...:)
Cheney will show himself as the evil bastard he is...
Besides...in the long run, the VP debate is meaningless...bush is toast already, and cheney can go back to making millions in Halliburton, while Kerry tries to extract our troops from Iraq.

Edwards is a millionaire because of his ability to take down corrupt corporate honchos in a courtroom. Cheney is EXACTLY the kind of big-business weasel that Edwards has been trouncing his entire career. The stakes are much higher this time, and I'm sure he's been prepping like there's no tomorrow. I think he'll manage to get under Cheney's skin and get him riled.

When a vice president tells a senator to go fuck themselves in the capitol, what does that say for that vice president's ability to keep his cool? Cheney may be smarter than chimp, but his demeanor will show through and it will be apparent to all what an evil corporate fuckbag he is.

I watched nearly the whole debate and I was pleasantly surprised about how well it turned out. Although I knew that Kerry would do well, especially after seeing a clip of his 1996 (?) debate with William Weld, I had no idea just how well he would do and how poorly Bush did and the fact that the pundits were overwhelmingly declaring Kerry the winner of the debate astounded me and the news just seems to keep getting better. Before the debate, the news was not very encouraging and I had already resigned myself to Bush as President for another 4 years but Kerry really dazzled me. I was going to vote for him no matter what but I think that everybody was treated to a REAL debate and he had an opportunity to "shine." It was a long time coming. Kerry alost seemed to be a non-entity in this race until Thursday and almost all of the coverage was focused on Bush and how well he was doing but now it seems like because of the debate the news media is now promoting more favorable news coverage and exposure of Kerry. I am kind of wondering if this was Kerry's strategy all along: Let Bush run his mouth off for most of the campaign and then clobber him hard during the debates after becoming familiar with his rhetoric. Although it's not over yet, I feel that we might have finally turned the corner on this election and not a moment too soon!

the whole debate is going to be a wash. EMTs are on call for the duration. Mothers, put your young ones to bed early. Cheney will make a mess of things if he thinks he's going down.

21. Frankly, I am a bit nervous ... |
|
not because I doubt Edwards(I don't) but because Cheney will be out for blood from what I understand. He is going to rip into John's lack of experience ... and this is a much more even match-up than */Kerry. Plus the physical aspect gives me pause, as people are so quick to write off the important issues (meaning "pretty boy" will have to work very hard to earn respect from those who aren't already behind him).
