Uh Oh! Imus now thinks that Kerry is going to win
A nice switch from his constant harping that he 'likes' Kerry but he can't win. Probably just temporary but I'll take the message getting out to millions of his listeners.

1. Yeah...I heard that
Imus is sick I tell you. When the chips are down he turns on Kerry. However, when the polls show him going upward then he all of a sudden thinks he is going to win. Oh and then after Kerry gave the performance Thursday Imus kept saying how he thought Bush did not do as bad as other said he did. Stupid stuff like that. Then today he basically said Kerry was going up in the polls because all the media turned on Bush including Fox.

2. The media "turned on him"?
meaning that they were (in many cases, still are) Bush sycophants. Imus just wants to be on whatever side is winning, there's not an ounce of integrity in the man's body.

7. Right now, I'll settle for "sycophant" if it can turn one vote for Kerry.

3. well odds are in our favor
that Bush will be a fuck-up again on Friday... His last three big appearances where he was under the grill -- the prime time press conference, the Russert interview, and the Kerry debate -- he's choked badly (notice how I left softball O'Reilly out)... so the odds aren't good unless he can get help from "a higher father."

9. Don't forget the
appearance in front of the press corps who are members of color (sorry I can't remember the actual name.) He had the same problem of waiting for applause that never came.

14. When * addressed the UN he had the same problem...
kept pausing and looking out at the audience for the applause. When he didn't get any, he looked stunned. Of course, he had a teleprompter there, so he just kept going.

10. And Bush wasn't even under as much pressure as he'll be now
Bush can't cope with pressure or being questioned.

Kerry and Edwards MUST keep the pressure on these criminals, and force them to break.

4. who cares what imus thinks? the guy's a disc jockey
for heaven's sake. just because msnbc runs his show and he takes phone calls from msnbc's stable of political hacks doesn't qualify him as a political commentator.

12. Don't Count on Imus, Don't Trust Imus

He sways like the wind, he is only concerned about being provocative.

I loved it when John Edwards said to him, if you are with us, we need you to be with us, and stop your whining.

The man has an extraordinarily pampered life yet all he does is whine.

13. Political Science 101 & Imus
There are three groups in every election: {1} those who will always vote for you;{2} those who will always vote against you; and {3} those who are undecided. In the 2004 presidential election, group #3 is very likely going to determine who wins the presidency.

Many DUers do not like Imus. But millions of people listen to him. Most of them do not have the same world-view as DUers. Many of them belong to group #3. And Imus is giving voice to their questions, such as "I like Kerry, but can he actually win?" You may note that he has Kerry on frequently -- he and his wife are long-time friends of Kerry and his wife. Also note that Edwards was on the show Thursday, and called in on Friday.

Imus also frequently refers to Cheney as "an evil presence on the planet." Even the two hard-core republicans on his show will always refer to Cheney in negative terms, and are strongly against the Bush policy in Iraq.

15. Imus just bet $10,000 on Kerry
he challenged NYS OPR&HP director Bernadette Castro a million dollars on the race. She was only willing to bet $10,000. He called her bluff. The bet is on. Now, if Imus is willing to bet a million dollars that Kerry will win, it should indicate he is actually confident.

17. Thanks for this info.
I didn't know about the Imus/Kerry connections. Very interesting. Also, good for John Edwards that he's calling Imus' show and keeping things current.
