Fewer Viewers for Remaining Debates? |
|
I suspect there will be fewer viewers for the remianing debates because the baseball playoffs will also be televised in prime time.
The Yankees-Twins games will be on Faux at from 8 to at least 10:30 Tuesday and Friday nights.

1. Nah. That debate only whetted the appetites for more... |
|
Baseball? What's that? I stopped watching after the strike. And they haven't been able to bribe me back with tricked up homerun races and rigged contests yet. :hi:

2. naw, not til the league championship series come up |
|
I wouldn't worry about it. 63 million viewers the first time around proves this is "must see TV".

Repugs counting on Cheney to stop Dem momentum. This article nearly predicts a Cheney win. Dick is so awesome http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A4587-2004Oct3.html

9. I thought the same thing even before last weeks debate |
|
it's on a Friday night... not that many people stay home to watch TV on a Friday night. I am sure Rove and * thought about this when planning for the debates. I actually don't care if fewer people watch this next debate. The verdict is in for Bush and it is not good!!

4. Bush campaign done in by FOX |
|
1) Viewers watch baseball on FOX instead of debates 2) Undecideds reflect on the only debate they've watched - the first 3) Pick Kerry by default 4) Ann Coulter starts a crusade against baseball the day after the election
I can only hope.

6. The plan was to make sure |
|
the security debate was first because it was Shrub's strong area. Then the plan was to have have the next two debates scheduled for when the playoffs were so that a good, strong showing by the prez would be followed by very low viewership for the next two debates so that Kerry would not be able to catch up. But alas, looks like the saying "be careful what you wish for" might apply in this case. Now its Bush who has to catch up--and in his worst area--the economy. I think there will be some viewership for the next two debates although I think it might be lower than the first. In any event, its * who has the catching up to do. And he has to compete with the playoffs. Oh well...

7. You only get one chance... |
|
... to make a first impression.
I have a feeling that the impression left by the first debate is the one that is going to stick with the majority of people. Rove apparently thought so, that's why he wanted all those rules and that's why he wanted the first debate to be about Bush*'s so-called strong point - national security.
I know, here I go being optimistic again :) I think that if Bush* did extremely well (better than he is capable of actually doing) in the next debates, it will not undo the damage from the first one.
This race is Kerry's to lose, and I don't think he's gonna :)

Always a chance for one candidate or the other to make the f.u. of a lifetime, and have every news outlet report it for the next three days. Certainly not Kerry's to lose yet.

... it IS Kerry's to lose if he can get to Nov 2 without making any big mistakes.
Forget Gallup, they are always tilted towards Repugs. Kerry is in the lead now, and I don't think it will be that hard for him to stay there.
I think the biggest thing we have to worry about is the Repug "October Surprise". And, I'm only a little worried about it, because just trotting out Osama Bin Forgotten isn't likely to do the trick IMHO, thanks to the Reps' own insistence that he is not important.

11. I plan to watch every one! |
|
If you think Kerry kicked butt in the first one, just wait until they get into domestic issues. Bush knows LESS than nothing about those issues.
And I also can't wait to watch Attorney Edwards in action, with that sweet smile in his face as he buries Cheney.
