I hope Edwards brings up Halliburton-Iraq-1998 |
In 1998, in contravention to the sanctions on Iraq, Halliburton, while Dick Cheney was CEO, helped Saddam Hussein rebuild some of his oil infrastructure and made millions of dollars. We know that Saddam, an evil man, spent any money he got on his military. Ergo: Halliburton helped Saddam buy bullets that were used against US troops in 2003. Wouldn't this be a kind of a flip-flop? Arming Saddam Hussein in 1998, then arguing that he should be disarmed four years later? Of course, it might also be considered treason.

1. That will be a sure shot... |
Dick Halliburton Cheney.
It's settled the debate will be sitting in front of a desk. That's how 'executive-minded' cheney wanted his prop. That will be a great situation and image for Edwards to kill him with Halliburton. Cheney, always the man behind the scene.

2. Halliburton is Cheney's weak spot. |
It's exactly what made him blow up at Leahy last summer. I am hoping that Edwards will remind Cheney of what he said--falsely--about the government having "nothing to do" with Cheney's wealth in his debate with Lieberman. I'm hoping Edwards will also remind the listeners that Cheney was reprimanded in the 9/11 report for sending out f-16s to down the highjacked planes when he didn't have the authority to do that, and to really hammer away at the idea that Cheney oversteps his authority a lot. If I were Edwards, I would put it right in Cheney's face that Bush is unnaturally reliant upon him, and keep pushing him, pushing him, pushing him, hitting his sore spots, trying to make him lose his composure.
