Seeking volunteers for a small research project

I am assisting www.votewatch.us in their "closing voter" campaign. Here is the post where I notified folks that we need volunteers to sign up for election day.

Today I am looking for someone that will do a bit of research. Will you help? I need the following information for each state:

Total number of counties
Total number of precincts

I figure this is as easy as calling your Secretary of State or Chief Elections Officer, and their office will know the number. Number of counties may even be on their web site.

The most important are the SWING STATES, but I really would like to have all states if possible.

THIS SITE has links to all of the State web sites, as well as telephone numbers.

If you can take on a few states, or just your own, please post the results here.

we are trying to refine the specific areas - it looks like we will try to narrow our focus at some key counties in the swing states.
