Insta-polls ---thoughts
As useless and dumb as the internet/media instapolls are, it seems that the incredibly lopsided response by Dems to the last batch had some real effect in shaping the storyline --Kerry won -- over the next few days. Since the talking dopes have to say something when they are on camera, quoting their own poll is the first thing that comes to their "minds" and serves as the basis for the next interview or discussion.
I only saw one Republican operative complain about organized voting in these polls, and even the anchor couldn't take that, (CNN I think) pointing out that the Right does it all the time, just not very well this time.

It was interesting how evidently disorganized the Freepers et al were in hitting these polls...it would surprise me if they were as lax tomorrow night, so, it will be doubly important for Dems to jump in and swamp the numbers again.

IMHO

3. millions?

There were a lot of media polls, some quite small (newspapers) and others much larger. I don't think any numbered in the millions, though.

Terry NcCauliffe did send out an appeal to Dems generally to "let
the media know' who won the debate, so I imagine participation went far beyond DU.

Also, I was using "Freeper' generically.."wingnuts" or
"douchebags" would have been more inclusive terms.

4. I think that it is important to respond because
it shows that we are watching and listening.

Of course, the polls are freeped and DUed, but if we don't put in our DU votes, the media will interpret that as we are not engaged. If we do vote, the media knows we are keeping tabs.

6. AAR discussed yesterday: it showed enthusiasm for Kerry. In 2000
they were doing it for W, unchllenged. yes, it matters.
